Chelerythrine Chloride is an Affinity-Labeling Inactivator of CYP3A4 by Modification of Cysteine239
Journal of Medicinal ChemistryChelerythrine chloride (CHE) is a quaternary benzo[c]phenanthridine alkaloid with an iminium group that was found to cause time- and concentration-dependent inhibition of CYP3A4. The loss of CYP3A4 activity was independent of NADPH. CYP3A4 competitive inhibitor ketoconazole and nucleophile N-acetylcysteine (NAC) slowed the inactivation.

Chelerythrine inhibits NR2B NMDA receptor independent of PKC activity
Biochemical and Biophysical Research CommunicationsN-methyl-d-aspartate receptors (NMDARs), the ligand ion glutamate receptor channels, mediate major excitatory neurotransmission in central nervous system (CNS). They highly express in CNS and involve in multiple physiological processes. Many studies implicated that NMDAR plays a crucial role in number of neurological disorders, including ischemia ...

[Determination of chelerythrine in Chelidonium majus by RP-HPLC].
Zhongguo Zhong yao za zhi = Zhongguo zhongyao zazhi = China journal of Chinese materia medica, 2010To develop an HPLC method for determination of the content of chelerythrine in Chelidonium majus.Chelerythrine was extracted from the fine powder of the crade with drug methanol and determined by HPLC. The mobile phase was acetonitrile-1% triethylamine (25:75) (adjusted pH to 3 using phosphoric acid) and the detection wavelength was set at 268 nm.The ...
