Adaptation of the methodology for sequential five-step fractionation of elements from bottom sediments of lake Imandra [PDF]

open access: yesBIO Web of Conferences
A series of experiments was carried out to adapt the technique of five-stage sequential fractionation of elements from soils, silts and bottom sediments (on the example of bottom sediments of Lake Imandra).

Characteristics of Soil Chemical Properties Associated with Inceptisols in Various Land Use in Jasinga, Bogor

open access: yesJournal of Tropical Soils, 2023
Inceptisols are soils with low to moderate fertility and have not experienced further development. This study aims to characterize the chemical properties of inclusions and base exchange fractionation of P of soil on Inceptisol soil map units of forest ...

Gut microbiome and aging—A dynamic interplay of microbes, metabolites, and the immune system

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Age‐dependent shifts in microbial communities engender shifts in microbial metabolite profiles. These in turn drive shifts in barrier surface permeability of the gut and brain and induce immune activation. When paired with preexisting age‐related chronic inflammation this increases the risk of neuroinflammation and neurodegenerative diseases.

Valosin‐containing protein counteracts ATP‐driven dissolution of FUS condensates through its ATPase activity in vitro

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Biomolecular condensates formed by fused in sarcoma (FUS) are dissolved by high ATP concentrations yet persist in cells. Using a reconstituted system, we demonstrate that valosin‐containing protein (VCP), an AAA+ ATPase, counteracts ATP‐driven dissolution of FUS condensates through its D2 ATPase activity.

d13C pattern of dissolved inorganic carbon in a small granitic catchment: the Strengbach case study (Vosges mountains, France) [PDF]

open access: yes, 1999
The transfers and origins of dissolved inorganic carbon DIC. were studied for a year in a soil–spring–stream system in the Strengbach catchment, Vosges mountains, France.

An isoform of 14‐3‐3 protein regulates transbilayer lipid movement at the plasma membrane

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Loss of 14‐3‐3ζ in CHO cells confers resistance to exogenous phosphatidylserine (PS) and impairs endocytosis‐independent inward flip‐flop of fluorescent PS at the plasma membrane. RNAi‐mediated knockdown reproduces this defect, while no additive effect is seen in ATP11C‐deficient cells.

Pasture Recovery Period Affects Humic Substances and Oxidations of Organic Matter in Eastern Amazon

open access: yesAgronomy
Land management practices that overlook soil limitations and potential have led to varying degrees of degradation. This study evaluates the carbon content in chemical and oxidisable soil fractions across different pasture recovery periods, comparing them
