CX3C chemokine: Hallmarks of fibrosis and ageing
Fibrosis refers to the progressive tissue lesion process characterized by excessive secretion and deposition of extracellular matrix (ECM). Abnormal fibrous tissue deposition distorts tissue architecture and leads to the progressive loss of organ ...

The immune cell landscape in kidneys of patients with lupus nephritis. [PDF]
Lupus nephritis is a potentially fatal autoimmune disease for which the current treatment is ineffective and often toxic. To develop mechanistic hypotheses of disease, we analyzed kidney samples from patients with lupus nephritis and from healthy control

Requirements for cleavage and function of the transmembrane chemokine fractalkine/CX3CL1
Leukocytes are recruited from the blood vessel wall towards the inflamed tissue. This process occurs in multiple steps and is regulated in part by chemokines. Among the large family of chemokines that mediate directional cell migration an unusual member the CX3CL1 (fractalkine) is described existing as a transmembrane and a soluble molecule.
