Analysis and characterization of mouse monoclonal antibodies reactive to Chikungunya virus (CHIKV) [PDF]
occurring in 1984). However, plague has made an astonishing comeback in the last decade. Methods: n/a. Results: After a silence of 50 years, an outbreak of bubonic plague suddenly occurred close to Oran in Algeria, in June 2003. Eighteen bubonic cases were identified, and Yersinia pestis was isolated from 6 patients.

Seroprevalence of Chikungunya virus (CHIKV) infection on Lamu Island, Kenya, October 2004.
An outbreak of Chikungunya virus (CHIKV) disease associated with high fever and severe protracted arthralgias was detected in Lamu, Kenya, peaking in July 2004. At least 1,300 cases were documented. We conducted a seroprevalence study to define the magnitude of transmission on Lamu Island. We conducted a systematic cross-sectional survey.

Background: The reemergence of Chikungunya virus (CHIKV) infection and the spread of the virus throughout the world call for a fast, reliable, and improved laboratory diagnostic procedures. The aim of this study was to determine if CHIKV genome is present in other body fluids besides plasma as a tool for developing non-invasive diagnostic method ...

A retrospective investigation for the seroprevalence of Chikungunya virus and its co-existence with Dengue virus in Pakistani population, 2014–2015 [PDF]
Dengue and Chikungunya are caused by the same vectors, Aedes aegypti and Aedes albopictus. Both mosquitoes are endemic in Pakistan, and various parts of the country experienced outbreaks of Dengue virus over the past decades.
