Effect of Photoperiod and Gibberellin on the Bolting and Flowering of Non-Heading Chinese Cabbage

open access: yesHorticulturae, 2023
Non-heading Chinese cabbage (cabbage) is an essential green leafy vegetable, and bolting and flowering are necessary for reproduction. However, further research is needed to study the effect of photoperiod on the bolting and flowering of cabbage, particularly on the development of the stem.

Effect of Ammonium and Nitrate Ratio on Nutritional Quality of Flowering Chinese Cabbage

open access: yesApplied Mechanics and Materials, 2011
Effect of ammonium and nitrate ratios (0:100, 25:75, 50:50 and 75:25) on nutritional quality of flowering Chinese cabbage (Brassica campestris L. ssp. chinensis var. utilis Tsen et Lee) with 3 cultivars were studied in hydroponics. The results indicated that, with the increasing of ammonium proportion in nutrient solution, the soluble sugar content in ...

Selenium enrichment pattern in flowering Chinese cabbage, cabbage and asparagus

open access: yes, 2006
CONCLUSIONS - Within a certain range, selenium accumulation in three studied vegetables was lineally correlated with spraying concentration. However, a too high concentration caused the reduction of vegetable output and damage in quality. - Twice spraying with lower concentration of selenium was a better option to improve selenium enrichment efficiency.
