Estimating the parameters of chirp signals: an iterative approach

open access: yesIEEE Transactions on Signal Processing, 1998
This correspondence is concerned with the problem of estimating the parameters of constant amplitude chirp signals embedded in noise. An estimation algorithm based on a simple iterative approach is proposed whose main characteristics include accuracy, reduction in the error propagation effect, and operation over a wide range of phase parameter values ...

Satellite and Reanalysis Dataset Dependence of ETCCDI Extreme Precipitation Trends in Paraná, Southern Brazil

open access: yesInternational Journal of Climatology, EarlyView.
Extreme precipitation trends detected in Paraná, Southern Brazil (1983–2024), are strongly conditioned by the dataset used, with reanalyses indicating coherent inland drying and longer dry spells, observations retaining stronger mesoscale heterogeneity, and satellite products often showing declines in short‐duration extremes. Monthly diagnostics reveal

Climatology of Tropical Cyclones Approaching Tanzania and Their Impacts on Rainfall in East Africa

open access: yesInternational Journal of Climatology, EarlyView.
Tropical cyclones (TCs) that approach Tanzania bring heavy rainfall over northern Mozambique, Tanzania, and south‐central Kenya, but the occurrence of these TCs reduces precipitation over southern African countries. Easterly steering winds and the Mascarene High are key features directing TCs westward.

CDMA Communication System with Chirp Signal Carrier [PDF]

open access: yes, 2005
P(論文)In this research, we propose a system that uses the chirp signal that is the frequency sweep signal for carrier. The proposed system does not need any complex code synchronizing system in the receiver, and, in addition, a correlation characteristic ...

ENSO or the Atlantic: Which Actually Governs the Hydrological Vulnerability of the Caatinga?

open access: yesInternational Journal of Climatology, EarlyView.
This study challenges the traditional ENSO‐centric paradigm of rainfall variability in the Caatinga by demonstrating that the Tropical Atlantic exerts a statistically dominant influence on regional hydrological vulnerability. Using a seasonal ARX/HAC model and CHIRPS data, we establish a new hierarchy of climatic drivers across six rainfall districts ...

Future Soil Erosion Under Combined CMIP6 Climate Projections and Land Use/Land Cover Change: A RUSLE‐Based Assessment of the Kampe Omi Dam Basin in Nigeria

open access: yesLand Degradation &Development, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Soil erosion remains a major environmental challenge in Nigeria, driven by the combined effects of climate variability and land use/land cover (LULC) changes. Understanding future dynamics is essential for effective soil conservation planning.

Impact of signal wavelength on the semiconductor opticalamplifier gain uniformity for high speed optical routers employing the segmentation model [PDF]

open access: yes, 2010
This paper investigates the impact of a train of input Gaussian pulses wavelength on semiconductor optical amplifier (SOA) gain uniformity for high speed applications. In high speed applications, the linear output gain of the input pulses is necessary in

A Novel Method to Detect Interface of Conductivity Changes in Magneto-Acousto-Electrical Tomography Using Chirp Signal Excitation Method

open access: yesIEEE Access, 2018
As a non-invasive and hybrid imaging modality, magneto-acoustic-electrical tomography (MAET) is extremely useful for the electrical conductivity measurement in vivo.

Explainable, Uncertainty‐Aware Machine Learning for Maize Land Suitability and Climate Resilience in Lorestan Province, Western Iran

open access: yesLand Degradation &Development, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Maize (Zea mays L.) is strategically important in Iran, yet its cultivation in the semi‐arid Zagros is constrained by limited and variable water, heat stress and heterogeneous soils, while conventional suitability assessments are deterministic, rarely validated spatially and provide no measure of confidence.
