Nanolignin Functional Separators for Flexible Lithium–Sulfur Batteries With Enhanced Performance

open access: yesENERGY &ENVIRONMENTAL MATERIALS, EarlyView.
Nanolignin‐functionalized separators, incorporating lignin nanoparticles into a crosslinked PEGDA coating applied on commercial separators, reduce polysulfide shuttling, thereby enhancing cycling performance in flexible lithium–sulfur pouch cells, while also improving thermo‐oxidative stability and flame retardancy.

Hydrophobic eutectic solvent‐engineered membranes for highly permeable, selective, and antifouling pharmaceutical removal from municipal wastewater

open access: yesENERGY &ENVIRONMENTAL MATERIALS, EarlyView.
Single‐step incorporation of a hydrophobic deep eutectic solvent (HDES) into polyethersulfone ultrafiltration membranes via non‐solvent induced phase separation creates selective, antifouling membranes for pharmaceutical removal. The HDES nanodomains enhance permeability, electrostatic interactions, and adsorption affinity, enabling efficient and ...

The use of lysozyme to prepare biologically active chitooligomers

open access: yesPolímeros, 2015
Two types of crustacean commercial chitosans (CS1, CS2) were dissolved in lactic acid solutions, hydrolysed by lysozyme and finally fractioned by methanol solutions into two parts containing chito-oligomers (CS-O1, CS-O2).

Addition of chitosan oligomers to improve bread texture

open access: yesIOP Conference Series: Earth and Environmental Science, 2019
Abstract This study aimed to characterize the bread products that was given additional chitosan oligomer from crustacean (shrimp) waste. The making of bread with the addition of chitosan oligomer was carried out with concentration treatment (0, 0.1%, 0.3% and 0.5%) and the test parameters were chemical, physical (functional groups of ...

Mono‐ and Bivalent Poly(iso‐butylene)‐Alanines for Drug‐Delivery of Nimodipine and Triamcinolone Acetonide

open access: yesMacromolecular Rapid Communications, EarlyView.
Mono‐ and bivalent‐, alanine‐modified poly‐iso‐butylenes, folding into beta‐sheets, were prepared by living carbocationic polymerization and subsequent endgroup modification. These PIB‐conjugates are useful as solid polymers for the drug release of triamcinolone and nimodipine. ABSTRACT Poly‐iso‐butylene (PIB) is a well known biocompatible polymer with
