Primary Productivity in the Mid-Atlantic Bight: Is the Shelf Break a Location of Enhanced Productivity?

open access: yesFrontiers in Marine Science, 2022
Estimates of primary production represent the input of carbon into food webs, as well as the initial step in the biological pump. For the past 60 years, much of the productivity information has been obtained using measurements of 14C-bicarbonate removal ...

Dependence of chlorophyll content in leaves from light regime, electromagnetic fields and plant species [PDF]

open access: yesJOJ Hortic Arboric. 2020; 3(1): 555602, 2020
The regularity of the distribution of chlorophylls content in a series of 30 cultivated plants and 75 steppe grasses was studied. The increased content of chlorophyll and magnesium in vegetables and grains compared with greens and steppe grasses is associated with more complex genetics of metabolism, which has stages of flowering and fruiting.

SCARECROW gene function is required for photosynthetic development in maize

open access: yesPlant Direct, 2020
C4 photosynthesis in grasses relies on a specialized leaf anatomy. In maize, this “Kranz” leaf anatomy is patterned in part by the duplicated SCARECROW (SCR) genes ZmSCR1 and ZmSCR1h.

Morpho-physiological and phytochemical responses of basil (Ocimum basilicum L.) to toxic heavy metal cadmium

open access: yesNotulae Botanicae Horti Agrobotanici Cluj-Napoca, 2021
Cadmium (Cd) is a particularly noteworthy metal that may change the secondary metabolism efficacy of pharmaceutical valuable plants. This study aimed to explore the influence of Cd (0, 25, 75, 100, and 150 µM) on the morpho-physiological traits, mineral ...

EFFICIENCY OF APPLICATION OF DIFFERENT FORMS OF SUPERABSORBENTS IN CROPS OF BASIL

open access: yesНаукові горизонти, 2021
The main factors limiting the productivity of vegetables are the arid climate and uneven rainfall, but the use of absorbents can solve this problem. The purpose of the study was to investigate the influence of absorbents on the productivity of basil ...

Dependence of Physiochemical Features on Marine Chlorophyll Analysis with Learning Techniques [PDF]

open access: yesAdvances in Environment Engineering and Management. Year 2021. Springer Proceedings in Earth and Environmental Sciences. Springer, Cham, 2023
Marine chlorophyll which is present within phytoplankton are the basis of photosynthesis and they have a high significance in sustaining ecological balance as they highly contribute toward global primary productivity and comes under the food chain of many marine organisms.
