The Maize ZmbHLH118 Transcription Factor Regulates Vacuolar Nitrate Loading by the NO3− Transporter ZmCLCa

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
In maize, the bHLH transcription factor ZmbHLH118 directly binds to the promoter of ZmCLCa and inhibits its expression. Tonoplast‐localized ZmCLCa mediates NO3− influx into the vacuole to regulate intracellular NO3− homeostasis, modulating nitrate uptake and metabolism, plant growth, and grain yield.

Bioponics in Tomato Cultivation Toward Sustainable Farming: Evaluation of a Circular Tri-Trophic System Incorporating Aquaponics and Insects

open access: yesPlants
Bioponics is a promising agricultural system designed to integrate circular economy principles by recovering nutrients from organic waste. In this context we implemented a tri-trophic circular system, where insect larvae fed on crop residues and fruits ...

Mapping loci for chlorosis associated with chlorophyII b deficiency in potato [PDF]

open access: yes, 2008
About 30% of the potato plants from a (Solanum tuberosum × S. berthaultii) × S. tuberosum backcross population had chlorotic, malformed leaves; but a gradation in symptom severity suggested regulation by more than one gene.

Integration of Spatiotemporal Multi‐Omics in Peach Fruit Unravels a Metabolic Niche and the Genetic Basis of Trichome‐Mediated Stress Adaptation

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This study constructed the first spatiotemporal multi‐omics map of peach fruit and discovered a key candidate gene that synergistically regulates trichome development and drought tolerance through the jasmonic acid signaling pathway, providing insights into the coupling mechanism between development and stress resistance.

Recent Trends in Metabolomics by NMR Spectroscopy

open access: yesAngewandte Chemie, EarlyView.
AI tools were applied to analyze more than 5 000 publications indexed in Scopus (2018–2025), identifying key trends and research directions in NMR‐based metabolomics. The artificial intelligence‐assisted workflow classified papers into six main fields of application, human health, food and nutrition, veterinary science, plants, environment, and ...

Effects of paclubutrazol on water-less stress tolerance mechanisms of two sesame (Sesamum indicum L.) genotypes [PDF]

open access: yesفیزیولوژی محیطی گیاهی, 2018
Drought is one of the most important abiotic agents that adversely affect the growth and development of plants. The arid and semi-arid regions where sesame (Sesamum indicum L.), as a relatively drought tolerant plant, is grown are specified by high ...

Control of primary productivity and the significance of photosynthetic bacteria in a meromictic kettle lake. [PDF]

open access: yes, 1989
During 1986 planktonic primary production and controlling factors were investigated in a small (A0 = 11.8 · 103 m2, Zmax = 11.5 m) meromictic kettle lake (Mittlerer Buchensee).

Beyond Extracellular Vesicle (EV) Hype: Practical Solutions and Remaining Hurdles in EV Research, Manufacturing, and Clinical Translation

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Extracellular vesicles (EVs) are nanoscale mediators of intercellular communication with diverse molecular cargoes that reflect their cell of origin. Advances in isolation, detection, and single‐particle analytics have revealed increasing molecular and functional heterogeneity, while exposing limitations in how EV identity and activity are ...
