Staying green postharvest: how three mutations in the Arabidopsis chlorophyll b reductase gene NYC1 delay degreening by distinct mechanisms.

open access: yesJournal of Experimental Botany, 2015
Stresses such as energy deprivation, wounding and water-supply disruption often contribute to rapid deterioration of harvested tissues. To uncover the genetic regulation behind such stresses, a simple assessment system was used to detect senescence ...

Elektrochromie von Chlorophyll-a und Chlorophyll-b in monomolekularen Filmen / Electrochromie Effects of a Chlorophyll a and a Chlorophyll b Monolayer

open access: yesZeitschrift für Naturforschung B, 1969
A electric field induced linear and quadratic change in the optical absorption of a chlorophyll a and chlorophyll b monolayer is reported. The chlorophylls are incorporated in a fatty acid monolayer condenser which allows the application of external field strength up to 4 · 106 V/cm. The spectrum of the quadratic electrochromic effect shows evidence of

Scientific Opinion on the re‐evaluation of chlorophylls (E 140(i)) as food additives

open access: yesEFSA Journal, 2015
Chlorophylls (E 140(i)) were previously evaluated by Joint FAO/WHO Expert Committee on Food Additives (JECFA) in 1969 and the Scientific Committee on Food (SCF) in 1975 and 1983 and, in relation to special medical purposes, for young children in 1996 ...

CHLOROPHYLL AND CAROTENOID CONTENTS IN TOMATO AND CUCUMBER PLANTS IN RELATION TO DIMETHOATE AND PROFENOFOS APLLICATION [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Plant Protection and Pathology, 2002
The insecticides, dimethoate and profenofos were sprayed on tomato and cucumber plants at the fruiting stage. Effect of these insecticides by different concentrations (half, one, and twice recommended rates) on chlorophyll “a”,”b”, total and carotenoid ...

Chlorophyll a + b Content and Chlorophyll Fluorescence in Avocado

open access: yesJournal of Agricultural Science, 2012
Tonnage (T), Simmonds (S) avocado trees, and TxS crosses were evaluated for differences in chlorophyll content and maximal quantum yield of photosystem II in sun and shade-type leaves. Total chlorophyll content by area (Chl a+bar) ranged from 984 mg m -2 in TxS240 to 4320 mg m -2 in Simmonds.
