Recent Advances in Microwave and Ultrasound Assisted Synthesis of Quinoline Derivatives as Anticancer Agents

open access: yesChemistry &Biodiversity, Volume 23, Issue 9, September 2026.
Green microwave‐ and ultrasound‐assisted synthesis enables the rapid, sustainable preparation of quinoline‐based anticancer agents with improved reaction efficiency, higher yields, and enhanced biological activity. ABSTRACT Quinoline derivatives represent a privileged class of heterocyclic compounds with remarkable structural diversity and broad ...

Clean Synthesis of N‐4‐Alkylamino‐7‐chloroquinoline Cyclic Imides: Influence of Lipophilicity on Antibacterial and Ecotoxicological Properties

open access: yesChemistry &Biodiversity, Volume 23, Issue 9, September 2026.
For series 2a–d, there appears to be optimal activity against Klebsiella pneumoniae when lipophilicity is intermediate (log P 2.64 for 2b). Similarly, for series 2e–g, activity against Pseudomonas aeruginosa, Staphylococcus aureus and Streptococcus mutans also increases (log P 3.71 for 2f).

Endogenous Bornavirus‐Like Nucleoprotein 1 Regulates Cellular Processes and DNA Double‐Strand Breaks in U‐87 MG Glioblastoma Cells

open access: yesCancer Reports, Volume 9, Issue 9, September 2026.
ABSTRACT Background Glioblastoma (GBM) is a common brain cancer with a poor prognosis and a high recurrence rate. DNA damage repair plays a crucial role in GBM carcinogenesis and treatment resistance. Human endogenous bornavirus‐like nucleoprotein 1 (EBLN1) regulates cellular processes and genetic stability. However, the biological role of EBLN1 in GBM

Field chloroquine-resistance determinants

open access: yes, 1997
Although sequence changes in the malarial multidrug-resistance gene, Pfmdr1, such as asn86tyr, have been linked with chloroquine-resistance in a collection of routinely cultured, laboratory strains of Plasmodium falciparum, an experimental cross ...
