Chlorpropham-induced splenotoxicity and its recovery in rats

Food and Chemical Toxicology, 2004
To determine the reversibility of hematological and pathological changes in spleen induced by sub-chronic administration of chlorpropham (CIPC), male F344 rats were given CIPC in the diet at 0, 600, 3000 or 15,000 ppm for 13 weeks (administration period) and then were given standard (0 ppm) diet for 10 weeks (recovery period). At 0, 1, 2, 4 or 10 weeks

Fate of Chlorpropham during High-Temperature Processing of Potatoes

Journal of Agricultural and Food Chemistry, 2020
Chlorpropham is a widely used sprouting inhibitor applied on potatoes during their storage. Currently, severe concerns are raised regarding the potential formation of 3-chloroaniline from chlorpropham during heat treatment. The reactions degrading the molecule in the matrix are quite complex under harsh processing conditions, and a molecular ...

Subchronic toxicity of chlorpropham (CIPC) in ICR mice

Food and Chemical Toxicology, 2000
Male and female ICR mice were given 0, 1875, 7500 or 30,000 ppm of chlorpropham (CIPC) in the diet for 13 weeks. Methemoglobin levels of male and female mice in the 7500 and 30,000 ppm groups were significantly elevated. Hemoglobin concentration, packed cell volume, mean corpuscular volume, mean corpuscular hemoglobin, mean corpuscular hemoglobin ...

Changes in chlorpropham residues in stored potatoes

American Potato Journal, 1979
Chlorpropham (CIPC)3 concentrations were measured in peel samples of tubers taken from large commercial potato storages and from test bins after aerosol application. Tuber samples were taken at different levels within the pile and at numerous sites near the surface.

Effects of Chlorpropham Vapors on Dodder Seedlings

Weed Science, 1969
Dodder (Cuscuta spp.) seedlings were killed when exposed to isopropyl m-chlorocarbanilate (chlorpropham) vapors in an enclosed system or in the open atmosphere in the greenhouse or field. No seedlings wrapped on the host when they were exposed for 16 hr or more in an enclosed system. Alfalfa (Medicago sativa L.) foliage restricted air movement near the

Effects of chlorpropham (CIPC) on the hemopoietic system of rats

Food and Chemical Toxicology, 2001
Male F344 rats were given 0 or 3% chlorpropham in the diet and at 2, 4, 6, 8 or 13 weeks of administration, five rats in each group were examined for hematology, plasma clinical chemistry and pathology. Marked splenomegaly and hepatomegaly were observed in treated rats at 2-13 weeks of administration.

NOTE ON THE BIOASSAY OF CHLORPROPHAM IN SOIL

Weed Research, 1962
Summary. A method for the bioassay of chlorpropham in soil from field plots is described which involves the preparation of mixtures of treated soil with untreated soil and the determination of the dilution required to produce 50% inhibition of primary root growth in buckwheat (Fagopyrum esculentum Moench).

Cadmium-induced alterations of chlorpropham metabolism in isolated rat hepatocytes

Toxicology, 1989
In order to investigate the various steps of chlorpropham (CIPC) metabolism which could be influenced by cadmium, isolated rat hepatocytes were incubated in the presence of CIPC (0.1 mM) and of increasing Cd concentrations (0-180 microM). The results showed that Cd accumulation in hepatocytes was in good correlation to its concentration in the ...

Chlorpropham Affects Processing Quality of Potato During Storage

International Journal of Vegetable Science, 2012
Undesirable storage conditions lead to physical and chemical quality loss in stored potatoes (Solanum tuberosum L.), which affects consumer acceptability. This study evaluated the effects of temperature on storage stability and processing quality of chlorpropham-treated potato cvs.

Dünnschichtchromatographische Bestimmung von Prometryn und Chlorpropham in Möhren

Food / Nahrung, 1970
