Alterations and mechanistic insights of gut microbiota and its metabolites in type 2 diabetes mellitus and Alzheimer's disease

open access: yesiMetaOmics, EarlyView.
This narrative review uniquely addresses how gut microbiota‐derived metabolites mediate overlapping pathologies of insulin resistance, neuroinflammation, and amyloidogenesis in type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM) and Alzheimer's disease (AD), proposing a framework for dual therapeutic targeting.

Temporal response patterns of human gut microbiota to dietary fiber

open access: yesiMeta, EarlyView.
In this study, 19 overweight participants, with or without type 2 diabetes mellitus, underwent 14 days of normal‐diet observation followed by 14 days of dietary fiber intervention. Fecal samples and continuous glucose monitoring data were collected daily throughout the 28‐day period.

Safety Evaluation of Serendipity Berry Sweet Protein From Komagataella phaffii

open access: yesJournal of Applied Toxicology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Serendipity Berry Sweet Protein (sweelin) is a novel hyper‐sweet thermophilic protein designed using Artificial Intelligence Computational Protein Design (AI‐CPD) to improve the stability and sensory profile of the protein found in serendipity berry (Dioscoreophyllum cumminsii).

Allergenicity, Genotoxicity and Subchronic Toxicity Assessment of IgG Binding Protein LT Produced From Aspergillus oryzae

open access: yesJournal of Applied Toxicology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Gastrointestinal health is one of the fastest growing areas in the food and beverage industry, as its importance to overall health and well‐being is becoming increasingly recognized. Immunoglobulins play a key role in protecting the gastrointestinal tract, and nonbovine sources of immunoglobulins (including camel milk, which has a long history

Introducing Two Novel Indices for Evaluating Coronary Artery Stenosis: Athero‐Inflammatory Index and Athero‐Inflammatory Glucose Index

open access: yesJournal of Clinical Laboratory Analysis, EarlyView.
In this study, we introduced and investigated two novel indices named athero‐inflammatory (AI) index and athero‐inflammatory glucose (AIG) index with coronary stenosis among a total of 2326 participants (761 angiography (+), 406 angiography (−) and 1159 controls) in Mashhad. We found that AI index and AIG index were better and more reliable markers for

Mitochondrial tRNAGlu 14687A>G May Be A Novel Mutation for Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus

open access: yesJournal of Clinical Laboratory Analysis, EarlyView.
We identified a novel mitochondrial tRNAGlu 14687A>G mutation in a Han Chinese pedigree with diabetes; the m.14687A>G mutation occurred at a conserved nucleotide of tRNAGlu, which was important for tRNA structure and function. Using a cybrid cell model, we found that mutant cells exhibited much more severe mitochondrial dysfunctions than control cells,
