WTAP‐Mediated m6A Modification Targets the LRP1‐Lipid Metabolism Axis to Regulate Joint Cartilage Regeneration

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
WTAP drives cartilage regeneration by activating an LRP1‐dependent lipid metabolic program in macrophages, enhancing IL‐10 and TGF‐β secretion to promote chondrogenic differentiation. Leveraging this mechanism, virtual screening identifies LRP1‐targeting compounds that effectively stimulate cartilage repair, highlighting a druggable epigenetic ...

CD44‐Targeting Hydroxyapatite Nanoparticles (HAP) Induce Mitochondrial Dysfunction‐Driven PANoptosis and Immunogenic Cell Death (ICD) via Ca Overload in Colorectal Cancer

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Colorectal cancer (CRC) remains therapeutically challenging due to high metastasis, recurrence, and immunotherapy resistance driven by tumor microenvironment‐mediated immune evasion. Immunogenic cell death (ICD) offers a promising strategy to reshape the immune microenvironment, yet existing ICD inducers suffer from poor targeting efficiency ...

Prospective short-term observational study of glucosamine complex with chondroprotectors effect in adults with diagnosed knee and/or hip osteoarthritis (Translation to Russian)

open access: yesConsilium Medicum
Background. Osteoarthritis (OA) of the knee and/or hip is a chronic degenerative disease that severely impacts quality of life. Current treatments, such as NSAIDs, provide only symptomatic relief and are associated with significant side effects.

Chondroitin 6-sulfate represses keratinocyte proliferation in mouse skin, which is associated with psoriasis

open access: yesCommunications Biology, 2021
Kitazawa et al. show that chondroitin 6-sulfate represses keratinocyte proliferation in skin. They find that mice deficient in chondroitin-6-O-sulfotransferase-1 (C6st-1), which synthesizes chondroitin 6-sulfate, exhibit keratinocyte hyperproliferation ...

Chondroitin proteoglycans in Caenorhabditis elegans development [PDF]

open access: yes, 2005
The role of non-sulfated chondroitin in developmental events of the nematode Caenorhabditis elegans has been investigated. This work took advantage of a class of mutants defective in glycosaminoglycan biosynthesis that show perturbations in vulval ...

Targeting Golgi–STING Signaling to Reprogram Innate and Adaptive Immunity for the Treatment of Implant‐Associated Infections

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This study presents an ultrasound‐responsive nanoplatform, CS‐BT@MZ@NEs, with a BaTiO3/Mn‐Zif‐8 core and a chondroitin sulfate coating for Golgi targeting. By leveraging neutrophil hitchhiking, it enables targeted delivery to infection sites. Under ultrasound stimulation, CS‐BT@MZ@NEs generates ROS and modulates Golgi pH to activate cGAS–STING ...

Semi-Synthesis of Chondroitin 6-Phosphate Assisted by Microwave Irradiation

open access: yesPolysaccharides
Chondroitin sulfate is a glycosaminoglycan polysaccharide, playing key roles in a plethora of physiopathological processes typical of higher animals. The position of sulfate groups within CS disaccharide subunits composing the polysaccharide chain is ...

Role of chondroitin sulfate proteoglycans (CSPGs) in synaptic plasticity and neurotransmission in mammalian spinal cord.

open access: yes, 2009
Chronic unilateral hemisection (HX) of the adult rat spinal cord diminishes conduction through intact fibers in the ventrolateral funiculus (VLF) contralateral to HX.

A Wireless 3D Magneto‐Mechanical Stimulation Platform Drives In Situ Chondrogenic Commitment of Endogenous MSCs

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
An intracellular magneto‐mechanical platform utilizing MSC‐targeted nanomotors is developed. After intra‐articular delivery, these nanomotors target endogenous BMSCs and are actuated within lysosomes to execute trans‐planar rotational‐bouncing motions under a rotating‐fluctuating 3D magnetic field, generating amplified mechanical stimulation.
