Hyperglycosylated human chorionic gonadotropin and human chorionic gonadotropin free beta-subunit: tumor markers and tumor promoters.

The Journal of reproductive medicine, 2008
Human chorionic gonadotropin (hCG) is a heterogeneous glycoprotein hormone comprising an alpha-subunit and beta-subunit that can vary in peptide and carbohydrate structure. After conception, hCG produced by early trophoblast cells acts on luteinizing hormone (LH)/hCG receptor corpus luteum cells to promote progesterone production and establish maternal

Evolution of the genes for the β subunits of human chorionic gonadotropin and luteinizing hormone

Nature, 1984
Nucleotide sequence comparisons of the single gene for the human luteinizing hormone gene beta subunit with two of the seven genes for the human chorionic gonadotropin beta subunit suggest that the beta human chorionic gonadotropin genes have evolved from an ancestral beta luteinizing hormone gene by a series of selected changes with very little ...

A Radioimmunoassay for the Core Fragment of the Human Chorionic Gonadotropinβ-Subunit

The Journal of Clinical Endocrinology & Metabolism, 1988
We developed a RIA for the beta-core fragment of hCG that is excreted in the urine of pregnant women and some patients with cancer. We purified beta-core from crude commercial preparations of hCG (of which beta-core is a major constituent) derived from pregnancy urine and used this purified beta-core material to immunize rabbits.

Monoclonal antibodies to human chorionic gonadotropin and its beta-subunit.

Nihon Sanka Fujinka Gakkai zasshi, 1984
Using the technique of somatic cell fusion, monoclonal antibodies to human chorionic gonadotropin (hCG) and its beta-subunit were produced. Spleen cells from immunized mice were fused with the myeloma line NS-1 using 50% polyethylene glycol and cultured in a selection medium.

[Monoclonal antibodies against the beta subunit of human chorionic gonadotropin].

Biulleten' eksperimental'noi biologii i meditsiny, 1989
The aim of investigation was creation of hybridomas, which produce monoclonal antibodies to the beta-subunit of human chorionic gonadotropin (beta-hCG), characterization of monoclonal antibodies, which necessary for hCG immunoassay in biological fluids, as an immunological methods of detection of early stage of pregnancy and choriocarcinoma.

Monoclonal Antibodies Against Immunodeterminants Associated with the Alpha and Beta Subunits of Human Chorionic Gonadotropin

Hybridoma, 1982
Spleen cells of BALB/c mice immunized with human chorionic gonadotropin (HCG), a glycopeptide hormone composed of two nonidentical alpha and beta subunits, were fused with NS-1 mouse myeloma cells. Two hybrid cell lines, cone PC2 and clone PD3 secreting monoclonal antibodies (McAb) to HCG were isolated.

Quantitation of whole molecule human chorionic gonadotropin and free beta-human chorionic gonadotropin subunit in the Abbott IMx analyser.

European journal of clinical chemistry and clinical biochemistry : journal of the Forum of European Clinical Chemistry Societies, 1991
An assay for the quantitation of the serum levels of free and whole molecule-associated beta-subunit of human chorionic gonadotropin on the Abbott IMx analyzer is described. The assay detects human beta-chorionic gonadotropin with a sensitivity of approximately 0.5 IU/l while showing no cross-reactivity with follitropin (1000 IU/l) or thyrotropin (2.0 ...

Structural and Functional Studies of the Tryptic Core of the Human Chorionic Gonadotropin β-Subunit*

Endocrinology, 1987
The beta-subunit of hCG was digested with trypsin to produce a modified form of the subunit for structure-function and immunological studies. After digestion of hCG beta with trypsin, the residual disulfide-linked core was isolated and found to be lacking the carboxy-terminal peptide (residues 115-145) and to contain bond cleavages between residues 2-3,

[The value of determination of human chorionic gonadotropin beta subunit in extrauterine pregnancies].

Orvosi hetilap, 1989
The authors deal with the value of the avidin-biotin enzyme immunoassay (A-B-Elisa) which was introduced by them for the demonstration of human chorion gonadotropin beta subunit (HCG-b). It is pointed out that the possibility of the diagnosis of extrauterine pregnancy improved significantly by measuring the HCG-b level with A-B-ELISA method.
