Colour Contrast Enhancement Method by Scaling the DC Coefficients in CIE-LAB Colour Space

open access: yesInternational Journal of Computer Applications, 2014
Colour and brightness of the captured images from low cost digital cameras are usually different from the colour and brightness of the original scene. Many factors are responsible for the low contrast images such as non uniform illumination, large or small exposure of some specific regions, and the unwanted movements of camera users.

Deep learning application in detecting glass defects with color space conversion and adaptive histogram equalization [PDF]

open access: yes, 2022
Manually detecting defects on the surfaces of glass products is a slow and time-consuming process in the quality control process, so computer-aided systems, including image processing and machine learning techniques are used to overcome this problem.

Submicron Metasurface Reconfigured Multiband Smart Windows

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
This work presents a submicron metasurface reconfigured multiband thermochromic smart window. By integrating subwavelength nanostructures into a Fabry−Perot resonator configuration, it mitigates conventional trade‐offs to simultaneously deliver high luminous transmittance and robust solar heating and radiative cooling modulation capabilities ...

Aluminum Oxynitride‐Engineered Transparent Aluminum Nitride Resistive Memory for Low‐Leakage Multilevel Switching in Micro‐LED Pixels

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Technologies, EarlyView.
An AlON interfacial layer is engineered within an AlN switching layer to enable transparent RRAM with four stable resistance states. The device achieves low‐voltage multilevel switching and a high HRS, allowing precise grayscale modulation and preventing light leakage in micro‐LEDs operated at VDD = 2.7 V.

Better representation of the limits of RGB and CMYK colour spaces

open access: yesInovacijos Leidybos, Poligrafijos ir Multimedijos Technologijose
Limits of RGB colour spaces are normally displayed as triangles in the CIE Yxy colour space. This type of diagram has the advantage that additive colour mixtures from two light sources actually all lie in a straight line.
