The effects of material thicknesses and substrates on the translucency and color masking ability of additively manufactured definitive crown materials

open access: yesJournal of Prosthodontics, EarlyView.
Abstract Purpose To investigate the translucency of the new 3D‐printable materials concerning thickness and the color masking ability of each material against different substrate colors. Materials and Methods Ninety square‐shaped specimens (12.0 mm × 12.0 mm) of two new 3D‐printable materials: ceramic‐infiltrated hybrid resin composite (VS) and light ...

Prediction of Beef Cielab Colour from Rgb Digital Images

open access: yes, 2017
The aim of this study was to evaluate the performances of a quadratic model to predict CIELAB parameters from digital images. The colour of 80 longissimus thoracis samples was measured by a spectrophotometer in the CIELAB space model and photographed using a digital camera which produced RGB images.

Zirconia, titanium, and polyetheretherketone implant abutments show equal long‐term clinical success—A systematic review and network meta‐analysis

open access: yesPeriodontology 2000, EarlyView.
Abstract Hundreds of millions of people have one or more missing teeth. Consequently, a substantial number of patients undergo implant therapy each year. However, technical complications and soft tissue inflammation associated with the implant abutment or the type of restoration can lead to bone loss and, ultimately, implant failure.

SMART: Speedy Measurement of Arabidopsis Rosette Traits

open access: yesThe Plant Phenome Journal, Volume 9, Issue 1, December 2026.
Abstract Most computer vision‐ and machine learning‐based plant phenotyping systems compute traits such as shape and size rather than the color distribution of the plant surface, even though color can provide important insights into plant physiology. Therefore, we developed Speedy Measurement of Arabidopsis Rosette Traits (SMART), an open‐source plant ...

Endoscopic features of deficient mismatch repair/microsatellite instability‐high and BRAF‐mutated colorectal cancer

open access: yesDEN Open, Volume 6, Issue 1, April 2026.
Abstract Objective Recent advancements in genome analyses, including the BRAF gene and mismatch repair (MMR) gene/microsatellite instability (MSI), have revealed the biological diversity of colorectal cancer (CRC). BRAF‐mutated CRC has a poor prognosis; however, cases exhibiting deficient MMR (dMMR)/MSI‐high (MSI‐H) and BRAF gene mutations have ...

Visibility Evaluation of Fundic Gland Polyp Associated With Proton Pump Inhibitor in Texture and Color Enhancement Imaging

open access: yesDEN Open, Volume 6, Issue 1, April 2026.
ABSTRACT Objectives A ‘gray color sign’ (GCS) is a new endoscopic feature of fundic gland polyp associated with proton pump inhibitor (PPI‐FGP). Here, we compare the ability of texture and color enhancement imaging (TXI) to white light imaging (WLI) with regard to the detection of GCS. Methods In this prospective study, 19 consecutive patients with PPI‐

Molecular tool for efficient breeding of DOMINANT Greenshell laying hens and significant refinement of phenotypic selection focused on eggshell color

open access: yesPoultry Science
: In recent decades, interest in non-traditionally colored eggs has increased. For breeders, this market interest means breeding lines of laying hens that lay eggs of varied colors, such as the blue-green eggshells (Dominant Greenshell) in this study ...
