Negative margins and negative HPV tests after large loop excision of the transformation zone: A nationwide historical cohort study. [PDF]

open access: yesActa Obstet Gynecol Scand
Women aged 50 years and older treated with LLETZ face a higher risk of inadequate treatment. Moreover, our findings highlight the need for standardized reporting of missing follow‐up records to improve monitoring of quality indicators. Abstract Introduction Adequate treatment of cervical precancer, defined as negative margins and a negative HPV test ...

Durable and dramatic response to checkpoint inhibition combined with COX-2 inhibitor celecoxib in a patient with p16+ metastatic sinonasal undifferentiated carcinoma: A case study. [PDF]

open access: yesCancer Rep (Hoboken)
Abstract Background Sinonasal undifferentiated carcinoma (SNUC) is an exceedingly rare head and neck malignancy. No consensus exists on treatment for metastatic disease. Case A 56‐year‐old female was diagnosed with SNUC after endorsing sinus congestion, diplopia, and right orbital pain.

Six-pattern p53 interpretation in 1293 vulvar squamous cell carcinomas: inter-pathologist variation and pattern distribution according to p16 status. [PDF]

open access: yesHistopathology
Six‐pattern immunohistochemical p53 assessment of 1,293 vulvar squamous cell carcinomas by eight pathologists showed 66.7% concordance across all six patterns, increasing to 86.9% when dichotomized to wild‐type versus mutated. The high interobserver agreement supports the clinical robustness of the six‐pattern p53 framework, with most discrepancies ...

Comparative evaluation of the results of an immunocytochemical study of P16/Ki-67 coexpression in patients with cervical intraepithelial neoplasia associated with human papillomavirus

open access: yesГинекология, 2021
Aim. To evaluate the results of an immunocytochemical study of p16/Ki-67 double staining in the cervical epithelium of patients with cervical intraepithelial neoplasia (CIN) associated with high-risk human papillomavirus (HPVhr) in comparison with ...

Evaluation of HPV-Related Biomarkers in Anal Cytological Samples from HIV-Uninfected and HIV-Infected MSM

open access: yesPathogens, 2021
Men who have sex with men (MSM) harbor the highest risk for anal carcinoma, mainly caused by Human Papillomavirus (HPV). The use of HPV-related biomarkers in the screening for this neoplasia is still debated. We assessed the association between high-risk

Is Primary HPV with Secondary p16/Ki67 Dual-Stain an Alternative HSIL-Risk Detection Strategy in Cervical Cancer Screening for Women under 30 Years?

open access: yesDiagnostics, 2021
Recently, cervical cancer rates elevation has been noted in women aged 20–39 years in regions with a very high human development index (HDI). The onset of cancer elevation rates is observed in the age range of 25–29 years, which should necessitate ...

p16/Ki67 dual stain triage versus cytology in primary human papillomavirus‐based cervical cancer screening with limited genotyping

open access: yesJournal of Medical Virology, Volume 95, Issue 11, November 2023., 2023
Abstract The introduction of primary human papillomavirus (HPV) cervical cancer screening requires the implementation of an appropriate triage strategy that will be effective in detecting high‐grade cervical disease without losing diagnostic specificity.

A pilot study of camrelizumab with docetaxel and cisplatin for the first line treatment in recurrent/metastatic oral squamous cell carcinoma

open access: yesMedComm, Volume 4, Issue 4, August 2023., 2023
This phase Ib trial enrolled patients diagnosed recurrent/metastatic oral squamous cell carcinoma (R/M OSCC) with previously untreated and PD‐L1 positive. Our data suggest that camrelizumab with docetaxel/cisplatin was well tolerable and had favorite efficacy in PD‐L1‐positive patients with R/M OSCC.

Human papillomavirus and p53 status define three types of vulvar squamous cell carcinomas with distinct clinical, pathological, and prognostic features

open access: yesHistopathology, Volume 83, Issue 1, Page 17-30, July 2023., 2023
Currently, all VSCC are treated similarly, irrespective of HPV and p53 status. Our findings suggest that in the future, the treatment of VSCC might be tailored in accordance with these molecular subgroups (HPV‐associated VSCC, HPV‐independent VSCC with wildtype p53, HPV‐independent VSCC with mutated p53), given their different prognosis and behaviour ...
