Circadian Gating of the Cell Cycle Revealed in Single Cyanobacterial Cells [PDF]
Although major progress has been made in uncovering the machinery that underlies individual biological clocks, much less is known about how multiple clocks coordinate their oscillations. We simultaneously tracked cell division events and circadian phases

HUCMSC‐Apo‐mvs enhance peripheral nerve repair by modulating the inflammatory microenvironment (IME), primarily through coordinated actions on three functional cells. They recruit macrophages and promote their polarization from pro‐inflammatory M1 to anti‐inflammatory M2 phenotypes, increasing secretion of IL‐10 and VEGF.

Summary: Circadian clocks are characterized by three properties: they run in constant conditions with a period of ∼24 h, synchronize to the environmental cycles of light and temperature, and are temperature compensated, meaning they do not speed up with ...

Synchrony of plant cellular circadian clocks with heterogeneous properties under light/dark cycles
Individual cells in a plant can work independently as circadian clocks, and their properties are the basis of various circadian phenomena. The behaviour of individual cellular clocks in Lemna gibba was orderly under 24-h light/dark cycles despite their ...

SnapShot: Circadian Clock Proteins
The earth’s rotation about its axis generates predictable changes in light and temperature, which define the 24 hr day-night cycle. Organisms from bacteria to humans have evolved an internal timekeeper to anticipate these environmental changes. This timekeeper—the circadian clock—allows organisms to parse biological processes to the appropriate time of

Organellar carbon metabolism is co-ordinated with distinct developmental phases of secondary xylem [PDF]
Subcellular compartmentation of plant biosynthetic pathways in the mitochondria and plastids requires coordinated regulation of nuclear encoded genes, and the role of these genes has been largely ignored by wood researchers. In this study, we constructed

Gut Bacteria Improve Depressive Symptoms by Degrading Cortisol into Androgen
Chronic stress is an important risk factor for stress‐related disorders such as depression. Stress hormone cortisol is essential for the pathogenesis of stress‐related disorders such as depression. Some gut microbiota degraded cortisol, and improve depressive symptoms.

Circadian rhythms are biological processes displaying an endogenous oscillation with a period of ~24 h. They allow organisms to anticipate and get prepared for the environmental changes caused mainly by the rotation of Earth. Circadian rhythms are driven

Patterns of Activity Expressed by Juvenile Horseshoe Crabs [PDF]
Adult American horseshoe crabs, Limulus polyphemus, possess endogenous circadian and circatidal clocks controlling visual sensitivity and locomotion, respectively.
