Chiral aromatic helices of different lengths were prepared, and their nonlinear optical activity was investigated using only linearly polarized incident light. Second‐harmonic scattering studies revealed distinct chiral and achiral contributions to the signal, thereby uncovering an intriguing relationship between the structure of the helices and their ...

An Artificial Metal‐Free Peroxidase Designed Using a Ferritin Cage for Bioinspired Catalysis
Designing artificial enzymes remains challenging due to the need for precise active site control. Here, we present a simple strategy to create metal‐free artificial enzymes by engineering Histidine clusters inside a ferritin cage. The resulting catalyst mimics peroxidase activity, and its stable cage structure offers new insights into supramolecular ...

Targeting Amyloid‐β (Aβ) aggregation requires a peptide‐based approach that accounts for the structural heterogeneity of Aβ. Here, we employ topological reprogramming via disulfide bonds to stabilize antiparallel β‐sheets within the dimeric peptide.

Functional Ambidexterity of an Ancient Nucleic Acid‐Binding Domain
The (HhH)2‐Fold is an ancient and ubiquitous nucleic acid‐binding domain. We demonstrate that this domain, which interacts with the minor groove of dsDNA, is functionally ambidextrous – that it can bind to dsDNA of either chirality. Moreover, binding of both chiral forms of dsDNA is mediated by an overlapping binding surface.

Phase transition from melt to most complex liquid crystal (LC) phases is weak 1st order but is preceded by a large heat capacity maximum. In addition, a chiral liquid forms through another transition before that to the LC, despite the compounds being achiral.
