The Dual‐Function of CtrNAC019‐CtrNPF2.1 Module in Salt Tolerance and Nitrogen Use Efficiency Via Enhancing Vacuolar Chloride Sequestration and Nitrate Efflux in Citrus trifoliata

open access: yesPlant Biotechnology Journal, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Salt stress and nitrogen utilisation efficiency (NUE) represent critical constraints affecting worldwide crop productivity. While nitrate transporter proteins (NPFs) have been implicated in saline chloride (Cl−) ion transport, the mechanistic linkage between chloride stress and NUE remains poorly understood.

HY5 Positively Regulates Autophagy to Mediate Red Light‐Induced Tomato Fruit Ripening

open access: yesPlant Biotechnology Journal, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Red light accelerates tomato fruit ripening, but the molecular link between light signalling and autophagy remains unclear. Here, we show that red light promotes fruit coloration by activating autophagy in tomato pericarp. This response largely depends on the transcription factor HY5, which positively regulates this process by directly ...

Enterobacter supplement and ambient conditions determine the performance of sterile male Mediterranean fruit flies

open access: yesPhysiological Entomology, EarlyView.
Partial replacement of Brewer's yeast (protein source) with inactivated Enterobacter biomass during larval development enhanced mating competitiveness of sterile VIENNA 8 GSS males under outdoor field‐cage conditions. Sterile male mating performance was season‐dependent, with highest competitiveness in spring, intermediate in autumn and the lowest ...

Therapeutic effect of NEO400, perillyl alcohol conjugated to linoleic acid, in a mouse model of UV‐induced skin damage

open access: yesPhotochemistry and Photobiology, Volume 101, Issue 2, Page 338-349, March/April 2025.
In the present work with mouse models, we demonstrate that a novel compound, NEO400, is able to profoundly protect skin against damage caused by UV radiation (UVR) when it is applied to skin post‐UVR exposure. In comparison, Aloe vera or linoleic acid are unable to achieve a similar level of protection.
