Predictive Value of Serum Cytokeratin 19 Level for the Feasibility of Conserving Ovaries in Endometrial Cancer

open access: yesFrontiers in Medicine, 2021
Objective: To determine the predictive value of cytokeratin 19 (CK19) for evaluating the safety of ovarian preservation in patients with endometrial cancer (EC).Methods: Five hundred and seventeen EC patients hospitalized from November 2010 to June 2016 ...

Cytokeratin 19 (CK19) expression by thyroid neoplasms in a Nigerian tertiary health centre

open access: yesPan African Medical Journal, 2023
despite the observed appreciable sensitivity and specificity of the use of CK19 in predicting thyroid malignancies, there is still a paucity of information about its uses in Nigeria. Current information across the world is also scarce. This study was to review the histopathological diagnosis of thyroid neoplasms seen in Obafemi Awolowo University ...

When Explant Surprises: Management and Outcomes of Hepatocellular Carcinoma Beyond Milan Criteria Discovered Post‐Transplant‐ A Narrative Review of Literature

open access: yesJournal of Surgical Oncology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Liver transplantation (LT) is the definitive treatment for early hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC), based on established criteria. Pre‐transplant imaging occasionally underestimates the tumor burden or biological aggressiveness, leading to explant pathology that exceeds the projection criteria, such as Milan.

A radiomics model based on magnetic resonance imaging to predict cytokeratin 7/19 expression and liver fluke infection of hepatocellular carcinoma

open access: yesScientific Reports, 2023
Hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) is the most common type of primary liver cancer. HCC with liver fluke infection could harbor unique biological behaviors.

Prognostic implications of CK19 positivity in patients with early recurrent hepatocellular carcinoma after hepatic resection undergoing transarterial chemoembolization

open access: yesBMC Gastroenterology
Background This study aimed to compare the survival outcomes of transarterial chemoembolization (TACE) between patients with early recurrent hepatocellular carcinoma (rHCC) after hepatic resection, stratified by cytokeratin (CK) 19 expression.

Detection of Cytokeratin 19 mRNA and CYFRA 21–1 (Cytokeratin 19 Fragments) in Blood of Tunisian Women with Breast Cancer

open access: yesThe International Journal of Biological Markers, 2008
Cytokeratin 19 (CK19) is an acidic protein of 40 kDa that is part of the cytoskeleton of epithelial cells. It is highly expressed by all epithelial cells and represents a useful indicator of epithelial differentiation. The soluble fragment of CK19 (CYFRA

The sensitivity of CEA, CA153 and CK19-2G2 for PBC and MBC.

open access: yes, 2013
(A) CK19-2G2 is superior to CEA and CA153 in stage II and III breast cancer patients and as sensitive as CA153 in MBC patients. The blank bar: CEA; the gray bar: CA153; the black bar: CK19-2G2 (B) The distribution of CK19-2G2 in MBC, PBC and DCIS.

The Early Regenerative Events in the Human Tympanic Membrane After In Vivo Traumatization

open access: yesThe Laryngoscope, EarlyView.
At 20 h after in vivo traumatization a regenerative response in the human tympanic membrane is activated. The results show an upregulated proliferation activity in the UPT in early healing and confirm the previously described regenerative regions of the annulus and malleus.

A Spotlight on Yolk‐sac Tumors: Molecular Pathology, Current Diagnostics, and Novel Therapeutics

open access: yesAndrology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Background Yolk‐sac tumors are an aggressive subtype of testicular cancer that significantly contribute to disease progression and therapy resistance, especially in adults. While testicular cancer generally has high cure rates with cisplatin‐based treatment, adult yolk‐sac tumors often appear as components of mixed tumors with poor response to
