Cardiovascular-kidney-metabolic syndrome, systemic inflammation, and incident dementia: evidence from 400,740 UK Biobank participants

open access: yesDiabetology & Metabolic Syndrome
Background Although some studies examined the association of individual risk factors for cardiovascular-kidney-metabolic (CKM) syndrome (diabetes, chronic kidney disease, and stroke) with the risk of incident dementia, little is known about the impact of

Association between dietary inflammatory index score and cardiovascular-kidney-metabolic syndrome: a cross-sectional study based on NHANES

open access: yesFrontiers in Nutrition
BackgroundCardiovascular-kidney-metabolic (CKM) syndrome affects 25% of US adults, with chronic inflammation as a key pathophysiological mechanism. While the inflammatory basis of CKM syndrome is established, associations of the energy-adjusted dietary ...

Joint and Independent Associations of Dietary Antioxidant Intakes With Advanced Stages in Older Patients With Cardiovascular‐Kidney‐Metabolic Syndrome

open access: yesThe Kaohsiung Journal of Medical Sciences, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT This study explored the association between the composite dietary antioxidant index (CDAI) and cardiovascular‐kidney‐metabolic (CKM) progression in an older population. Using data from NHANES 2001–2020, we analyzed 4974 adults aged ≥ 60 years with CKM syndrome. The CDAI was calculated from the intake of six dietary antioxidants.

Association between dietary index for gut microbiota and cardiovascular-kidney-metabolic syndrome: a population-based study

open access: yesFrontiers in Nutrition
BackgroundCardiovascular-kidney-metabolic (CKM) syndrome represents a major health threat globally. The newly proposed dietary index for gut microbiota (DI-GM), which quantifies dietary quality associated with gut microbiota diversity, may influence the ...

Cardiovascular Disease Risk Prediction in Patients With Metabolic Dysfunction‐Associated Steatohepatitis

open access: yesDiabetes, Obesity and Metabolism, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Background and Aims Metabolic dysfunction‐associated steatohepatitis (MASH) is associated with an increased risk of cardiovascular disease (CVD) morbidity and mortality. This study aimed to develop the first prediction models for CVD risk in a cohort of patients with MASH.

Proteomic Profiling Captures Residual Cardiovascular Risk Beyond the PREVENT Model in Individuals With Cardiovascular–Kidney–Metabolic Syndrome Stages 2–3

open access: yesDiabetes, Obesity and Metabolism, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Background Cardiovascular–kidney–metabolic (CKM) syndrome reflects complex pathobiological interactions among metabolic disorders, kidney injury, and cardiovascular disease (CVD). Stages 2 and 3 represent critical phases of disease progression characterised by high pathological heterogeneity.
