Scale invariance beyond criticality within the mean-field analysis of tensorial field theories

open access: yesJournal of High Energy Physics
We continue the series of articles on the application of Landau-Ginzburg mean-field theory to unveil the basic phase structure of tensorial field theories which are characterized by combinatorially non-local interactions.

Fab Four self-interaction in quantum regime

open access: yesEuropean Physical Journal C: Particles and Fields, 2017
Quantum behavior of the John Lagrangian from the Fab Four class of covariant Galileons is studied. We consider one-loop corrections to the John interaction due to cubic scalar field interaction.

In vitro properties of patient serum predict clinical outcome after high dose rate brachytherapy of hepatocellular carcinoma

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Following high dose rate brachytherapy (HDR‐BT) for hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC), patients were classified as responders and nonresponders. Post‐therapy serum induced increased BrdU incorporation and Cyclin E expression of Huh7 and HepG2 cells in nonresponders, but decreased levels in responders.

On local class field theory*

open access: yesJournal of the Mathematical Society of Japan, 1961

Gravitating Global k-monopole

open access: yes, 2007
A gravitating global k-monopole produces a tiny gravitational field outside the core in addition to a solid angular deficit in the k-field theory. As a new feature, the gravitational field can be attractive or repulsive depending on the non-canonical ...

Adaptaquin is selectively toxic to glioma stem cells through disruption of iron and cholesterol metabolism

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Adaptaquin selectively kills glioma stem cells while sparing differentiated brain cells. Transcriptomic and proteomic analyses show Adaptaquin disrupts iron and cholesterol homeostasis, with iron chelation amplifying cytotoxicity via cholesterol depletion, mitochondrial dysfunction, and elevated reactive oxygen species.

Composite higher derivative theory of gravity

open access: yesPhysical Review Research, 2020
We investigate a higher derivative theory that belongs to the class of composite field theories. Starting from the Yang-Mills theory based on the Lorentz group, we express the gauge vector fields in terms of the tetrad decomposition of a space-time ...

Patient‐specific pharmacogenomics demonstrates xCT as predictive therapeutic target in colon cancer with possible implications in tumor connectivity

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This study integrates transcriptomic profiling of matched tumor and healthy tissues from 32 colorectal cancer patients with functional validation in patient‐derived organoids, revealing dysregulated metabolic programs driven by overexpressed xCT (SLC7A11) and SLC3A2, identifying an oncogenic cystine/glutamate transporter signature linked to ...

Aggressive prostate cancer is associated with pericyte dysfunction

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Tumor‐produced TGF‐β drives pericyte dysfunction in prostate cancer. This dysfunction is characterized by downregulation of some canonical pericyte markers (i.e., DES, CSPG4, and ACTA2) while maintaining the expression of others (i.e., PDGFRB, NOTCH3, and RGS5).

Statistical field theory and effective action method for scalar active matter

open access: yesPhysical Review Research, 2020
We employ statistical field theory techniques for coarse graining the steady-state properties of active Ornstein-Uhlenbeck particles. The computation is carried out in the framework of the unified colored noise approximation that allows an effective ...
