Enteropathogenic E. coli shows delayed attachment and host response in human jejunum organoid‐derived monolayers compared to HeLa cells

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Enteropathogenic E. coli (EPEC) infects the human intestinal epithelium, resulting in severe illness and diarrhoea. In this study, we compared the infection of cancer‐derived cell lines with human organoid‐derived models of the small intestine. We observed a delayed in attachment, inflammation and cell death on primary cells, indicating that host ...

Web application for the analysis of assessment tests

open access: yesMillenium, 2018
Introduction: An assessment test enables the evaluation of an individual’s competence or ability. Such tests are important for both teaching and professional training institutions, as well as for the recruiting of human resources in the enterprise ...

Between classical and quantum [PDF]

open access: yes, 2005
The relationship between classical and quantum theory is of central importance to the philosophy of physics, and any interpretation of quantum mechanics has to clarify it.

Protein pyrophosphorylation by inositol pyrophosphates — detection, function, and regulation

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Protein pyrophosphorylation is an unusual signaling mechanism that was discovered two decades ago. It can be driven by inositol pyrophosphate messengers and influences various cellular processes. Herein, we summarize the research progress and challenges of this field, covering pathways found to be regulated by this posttranslational modification as ...

On the complementarity of classical test theory and item response models: item difficulty estimates and computerized adaptive testing

open access: yesEnsaio, 2015
This study aims to provide statistical evidence of the complementarity between classical test theory and item response models for certain educational assessment purposes.

The (Glg)ABCs of cyanobacteria: modelling of glycogen synthesis and functional divergence of glycogen synthases in Synechocystis sp. PCC 6803

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
We reconstituted Synechocystis glycogen synthesis in vitro from purified enzymes and showed that two GlgA isoenzymes produce glycogen with different architectures: GlgA1 yields denser, highly branched glycogen, whereas GlgA2 synthesizes longer, less‐branched chains.

A Comparison of Classical and Modern Measures of Internal Consistency

open access: yesFrontiers in Psychology, 2019
Three measures of internal consistency – Kuder-Richardson Formula 20 (KR20), Cronbach’s alpha (α), and person separation reliability (R) – are considered.

Valosin‐containing protein counteracts ATP‐driven dissolution of FUS condensates through its ATPase activity in vitro

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Biomolecular condensates formed by fused in sarcoma (FUS) are dissolved by high ATP concentrations yet persist in cells. Using a reconstituted system, we demonstrate that valosin‐containing protein (VCP), an AAA+ ATPase, counteracts ATP‐driven dissolution of FUS condensates through its D2 ATPase activity.

Aplikasi Model RASCH dalam Pengujian Alat Ukur Kesehatan Mental di Tempat Kerja

open access: yesPsikoislamika, 2015
This research aims to examine the validity and reliability of mental health scale in the workplace by using the Rasch model approach as well as compare the results of analysis with classical test theory approach.
