Hyperosmotic stress induces PARP1‐mediated HPF1‐dependent mono(ADP‐ribosyl)ation

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Sorbitol‐induced hyperosmotic stress rapidly induces reversible mono(ADP‐ribosyl)ation (MARylation) on PARP1 without the signs of genotoxic signaling. We show that PARP1 autoMARylation is HPF1 dependent and forms hydroxylamine‐resistant O‐glycosidic linkages.

Jingfang Granules for prevention of alcohol-induced hangover: a randomized, double-blind, crossover trial in healthy volunteers

open access: yesFrontiers in Pharmacology
IntroductionJingfang Granules (JFG), a classical traditional Chinese medicine formula comprising 11 botanical drugs, have traditionally been prescribed to dispel cold and eliminate dampness. This study aimed to clinically evaluate the efficacy and safety

Degradation mechanism of the von Willebrand factor A2 domain by nattokinase

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Nattokinase, a natto‐derived protease, exhibits potent antithrombotic effects. This study demonstrates that nattokinase directly cleaves the von Willebrand factor (vWF) A2 domain in vitro. Unlike the native regulator ADAMTS13, nattokinase degrades folded vWF independently of shear stress.

Proteo-genomic analyses in relatively lean Chinese adults identify proteins and pathways that affect general and central adiposity levels

open access: yesCommunications Biology
Adiposity is an established risk factor for multiple diseases, but the causal relationships of different adiposity types with circulating protein biomarkers have not been systematically investigated.

TRAIL‐PEG‐Apt‐PLGA nanosystem as an aptamer‐targeted drug delivery system potential for triple‐negative breast cancer therapy using in vivo mouse model

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Aptamers are used both therapeutically and as targeting agents in cancer treatment. We developed an aptamer‐targeted PLGA–TRAIL nanosystem that exhibited superior therapeutic efficacy in NOD/SCID breast cancer models. This nanosystem represents a novel biotechnological drug candidate for suppressing resistance development in breast cancer.

Circular RNA expression landscapes in myelodysplastic neoplasms: Associations with mutational signatures and disease progression

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
In this explorative study, the abundance of circular RNA molecules in bone marrow stem cells was found to be elevated in patients with high‐risk myelodysplastic neoplasms, and to be associated with an increased risk of progression to acute myeloid leukemia.

Subtype‐specific enhancer RNAs define transcriptional regulators and prognosis in breast cancers

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This study employed machine learning methodologies to perform the subtype‐specific classification of RNA‐seq data sets, which are mapped on enhancers from TCGA‐derived breast cancer patients. Their integration with gene expression (referred to as ProxCReAM eRNAs) and chromatin accessibility profiles has the potential to identify lineage‐specific and ...

Study on bioequivalence and influence of obesity-related indicators on pharmacokinetics and pharmacodynamics for insulin degludec in healthy subjects

open access: yesScientific Reports
This study aimed to evaluate the bioequivalence between test and reference insulin degludec (IDeg) and the effects of body composition on pharmacokinetics and pharmacodynamics of IDeg in Chinese healthy volunteers.

Clinical Trials and Clinical Judgment

open access: yesJournal of the American College of Cardiology, 2008
![Figure][1] Cardiovascular specialists have become justifiably proud of their commitment to evidence-based medicine and clinical trials. More large-scale randomized prospective clinical trials (RCTs) are performed in cardiology than in any other field, and contemporary practice is ...
