A scenario of unhealthy life cycle: The role of circadian rhythms in health

open access: yesAging Medicine
Circadian rhythms are oscillations in physiology and behavior caused by the circadian regulator. Cryptochromes, Periods, and Bmal1 are circadian clock genes that have been linked to aging and cancer.

CLOCK inhibits the proliferation of porcine ovarian granulosa cells by targeting ASB9

open access: yesJournal of Animal Science and Biotechnology, 2023
Background Clock circadian regulator (CLOCK) is a core factor of the mammalian biological clock system in regulating female fertility and ovarian physiology.

Circadian variation in gastric vagal afferent mechanosensitivity [PDF]

open access: yes, 2013
Food intake is coordinated to cellular metabolism by clock gene expression with a master clock in the suprachiasmatic nucleus synchronized by light exposure.

Parent Quality of Life at Two Years Following Their Child's Completion of Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia Treatment

open access: yesPediatric Blood &Cancer, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Background Parents of children treated for acute lymphoblastic leukemia (ALL) often experience significant caregiver burden and disruption to their well‐being. While parent quality of life (QoL) during treatment is well characterized, little is known about outcomes during early survivorship.

High Performance Single Clock Cycle CMOS Comparator

open access: yes2006 IEEE International Symposium on Circuits and Systems, 2006
A novel comparison algorithm is introduced, which uses a parallel MSB checking method instead of the traditional priority-encoding based comparison algorithm. Fast dynamic NOR gates are used instead of high-fanin NAND gates and this results in significant improvement in performance over the traditional design.

Quantifying fluctuations in reversible enzymatic cycles and clocks [PDF]

open access: yesPhysical Review E, 2018
Biochemical reactions are fundamentally noisy at a molecular scale. This limits the precision of reaction networks, but also allows fluctuation measurements which may reveal the structure and dynamics of the underlying biochemical network. Here, we study non-equilibrium reaction cycles, such as the mechanochemical cycle of molecular motors, the ...

Evaluation of the Utility of Baseline Echocardiogram in Patients With Standard Risk Precursor B‐Lymphoblastic Leukemia

open access: yesPediatric Blood &Cancer, EarlyView.
Abstract Background A routine baseline echocardiogram is often obtained prior to anthracycline administration in children with cancer. The utility of baseline echocardiogram is unclear in patients with standard risk B‐cell acute lymphoblastic leukemia (SR B‐ALL) as their anthracycline cumulative dose is low.

Non-destructive measurement of the transition probability in a Sr optical lattice clock

open access: yes, 2009
We present the experimental demonstration of non-destructive probing of the 1S0-3P0 clock transition probability in an optical lattice clock with 87Sr atoms. It is based on the phase shift induced by the atoms on a weak off-resonant laser beam.

Seconds-scale coherence in a tweezer-array optical clock [PDF]

open access: yes, 2019
Optical clocks based on atoms and ions achieve exceptional precision and accuracy, with applications to relativistic geodesy, tests of relativity, and searches for dark matter.

Nonparametric Band Business Cycle Clock

open access: yesPrzegląd Statystyczny, 2016
We discuss representation of uncertainty in the business cycle clock. We propose approach utilising description of the unconditional mean of the process, applied for modelling dynamics of macroeco-nomic time series, as a trend component and almost period function in a non-parametric setting.
