Phenotypic and genotypic characterization of single circulating tumor cells in the follow‐up of high‐grade serous ovarian cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Single circulating tumor cells (sCTCs) from high‐grade serous ovarian cancer patients were enriched, imaged, and genomically profiled using WGA and NGS at different time points during treatment. sCTCs revealed enrichment of alterations in Chromosomes 2, 7, and 12 as well as persistent or emerging oncogenic CNAs, supporting sCTC identity.

Clonal Hematopoiesis, a Risk Condition for Developing Myeloid Neoplasia

open access: yesHemato
Clonal hematopoiesis (CH) is an age-related process in which hematopoietic stem/progenitor cells increase their fitness due to the acquisition of mutations that lead to a proliferative advantage and to clonal expansion.

The PI3Kδ inhibitor roginolisib (IOA‐244) preserves T‐cell function and activity

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Identification of novel PI3K inhibitors with limited immune‐related adverse effects is highly sought after. We found that roginolisib and idelalisib inhibit chronic lymphocytic leukemia (CLL) cells and Treg suppressive functions to similar extents, but roginolisib affects cytotoxic T‐cell function and promotion of pro‐inflammatory T helper subsets to a

Clonal Evolution in Myelodysplastic Syndromes: From Molecular Pathogenesis to Targeted Therapeutic Strategies

open access: yesJournal of Clinical Question
Myelodysplastic syndromes (MDS) constitute a heterogeneous group of clonal hematopoietic stem cell disorders characterized by ineffective hematopoiesis, peripheral cytopenias, and a significant risk of progression to acute myeloid leukemia.

Evaluation of the 1986-1987 radiata pine clonal trials at Forest Research, New Zealand : a thesis presented in partial fulfilment of the requirements for the degree of Master in Applied Science at Massey University [PDF]

open access: yes, 1998
Clonal forestry, the establishment of plantations using tested clones, is highly sought after by the forestry industry in New Zealand and worldwide. Clonal testing is a vital element in the process leading to clonal forestry.

Tumour–host interactions in Drosophila: mechanisms in the tumour micro‐ and macroenvironment

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This review examines how tumour–host crosstalk takes place at multiple levels of biological organisation, from local cell competition and immune crosstalk to organism‐wide metabolic and physiological collapse. Here, we integrate findings from Drosophila melanogaster studies that reveal conserved mechanisms through which tumours hijack host systems to ...

Visualizing clonal evolution with clevRvis

open access: yes, 2023
Accurate reconstruction of clonal evolution is essential for the application of precision oncology. It allows for the early detection of newly developing, highly aggressive subclones that might be resistant to therapy and can potentially lead to relapse. However, analysis is characterized by challenges: Often, data on only few time points are available.

Circular RNA expression landscapes in myelodysplastic neoplasms: Associations with mutational signatures and disease progression

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
In this explorative study, the abundance of circular RNA molecules in bone marrow stem cells was found to be elevated in patients with high‐risk myelodysplastic neoplasms, and to be associated with an increased risk of progression to acute myeloid leukemia.

Optimization Aspects of Carcinogenesis

open access: yes, 2009
Any process in which competing solutions replicate with errors and numbers of their copies depend on their respective fitnesses is the evolutionary optimization process.
