Glycerol kinase of Trypanosoma brucei. Cloning, molecular characterization and mutagenesis.
Trypanosoma brucei contains two tandemly arranged genes for glycerol kinase. The downstream gene was analysed in detail. It contains an ORF for a polypeptide of 512 amino acids. The polypeptide has a calculated molecular mass of 56 363 Da and a pI of 8.6.

CRISPR/Cas9-mediated gene manipulation to create single-amino-acid-substituted and floxed mice with a cloning-free method. [PDF]
Clustered regulatory interspaced short palindromic repeats (CRISPR)/CRISPR-associated protein 9 (Cas9) technology is a powerful tool to manipulate the genome with extraordinary simplicity and speed.

We develop a new general framework for algebras and clones, called Universal Clone Algebra. Algebras and clones of finitary operations are to Universal Algebra what t-algebras and clone algebras are to Universal Clone Algebra. Clone algebras have been recently introduced to found a one-sorted, purely algebraic theory of clones, while t-algebras are ...

Molecular cloning and characterization of human endothelial nitric oxide synthase [PDF]
The constitutive calcium/calmodulin-dependent nitric oxide (NO) synthase expressed in vascular endothelium shares common biochemical and pharmacologic properties with neuronal NO synthase.

Cancer systems biology in the genome sequencing era: Part 2, evolutionary dynamics of tumor clonal networks and drug resistance [PDF]
A tumor often consists of multiple cell subpopulations (clones). Current chemo-treatments often target one clone of a tumor. Although the drug kills that clone, other clones overtake it and the tumor reoccurs. Genome sequencing and computational analysis allows to computational dissection of clones from tumors, while singe-cell genome sequencing ...

Controlled Secret Sharing Protocol using a Quantum Cloning Circuit [PDF]
We demonstrate the possibility of controlling the success probability of a secret sharing protocol using a quantum cloning circuit. The cloning circuit is used to clone the qubits containing the encoded information and {\em en route} to the intended receipients. The success probability of the protocol depends on the cloning parameters used to clone the

Molecular cloning and characterization of B-cadherin, a novel chick cadherin. [PDF]
Calcium-dependent cell-cell adhesion is mediated in large part by a set of homologous integral membrane glycoproteins termed cadherins. In this report, antibodies to conserved domains in previously described cadherins have been used to isolate cDNAs ...

Cancer systems biology in the genome sequencing era: Part 1, dissecting and modeling of tumor clones and their networks [PDF]
Recent tumor genome sequencing confirmed that one tumor often consists of multiple cell subpopulations (clones) which bear different, but related, genetic profiles such as mutation and copy number variation profiles. Thus far, one tumor has been viewed as a whole entity in cancer functional studies.
