Статья посвящена рассмотрению вопросов применения методики cloze tests в целях изучения избыточности текста. Приводятся некоторые результаты проведенных автором экспериментов с удалением каждого шестого слова на материале четырех текстов разного типа (разговорный, газетный, художественный и научный) на русском языке.
