The Seasonal Impact of the Island Mass Effect on Coastal Biogeochemistry and Phytoplankton Assemblage: The Case of the Tropical and Volcanic Island of Guadeloupe (French West Indies)

open access: yesJournal of Geophysical Research: Oceans, Volume 131, Issue 4, April 2026.
Abstract The Island Mass Effect (IME) in tropical regions remains understudied, despite its potential to fertilize oligotrophic oceanic gyres and impact on higher trophic levels. Guadeloupe provides an ideal case study of IME due to its diverse nutrient sources, dual exposure to the Caribbean Sea on the western coast and Atlantic Ocean on the eastern ...

Long-Lived Cobalt Isotopes Observed in Fallout

Science, 1958
Analyses of three samples of fall-out revealed the presence of the induced radioisotopes Co/sup 57/, Co/sup 58/, and Co/sup 60/. The amounts of these radioisotopes present in the samples would not constitute an internal hazard compared to the abounts of Sr/sup 90/ present in the samples.

Radioactive Isotopes of Cobalt

Physical Review, 1941
T HE recent mass spectrographic investigation of the cobalt isotopes by Mitchell, Brown, and Fowler,' showing that Co69 is the only stable isotope of cobalt, taken together with our recently acquired transmutation data, now makes it possible for us to make isotopic assignments for all the cobalt radioactivities with almost complete certainty. Tentative

Radiation Comparison of Cobalt Isotopes

The American Journal of Clinical Nutrition, 1960
T HE VALUE of radioactive vitamin B,2 ’ has been established as a diagnostic agent in pernicious anemia and related diseases, as a tracer for this vitamin in animal and in vitro studies, and as an analytic agent for certain types of isotope dilution procedures and biologic potency determinations.

New isotopes of cobalt; Activation cross-sections of nickel, cobalt, and zinc for 14.8 MeV neutrons

Nuclear Physics, 1960
Absolute neutron activation cross-sections at 14.8 Mev were measured for the five stable nickel isotopes, for cobalt, and for zinc, based on comparison with the Cu/sup 63/(n,2n)Cu/sup 62/ reaction (556 mb), the Cu/sup 65/(n,2n)Cu/sup 64/ cross-section (1000 mb), and the Al/sup 27/(n, alpha )Na/sup 24/ reaction (115 mb).
