Creating Ti–Fe α/β Alloys by Diffusion‐Driven Solid‐State Processing

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
This study proposes making alloys containing fast diffusing elements that are difficult to produce by ingot metallurgy, by diffusion‐driven solid‐state HIP processing of elemental powders and low‐temperature homogenisation. Here, novel Fe‐Ti α–β alloys are formed having fine α–β lamellae, a small β prior grain size without significant intermetallics ...

Long Distance Contribution to $s \to d\gamma$ and Implications for $\Omega^-\to \Xi ^-\gamma, B_s \to B_d^*\gamma$ and $b \to s\gamma$

open access: yes, 1995
We estimate the long distance (LD) contribution to the magnetic part of the $s \to d\gamma$ transition using the Vector Meson Dominance approximation $(V=\rho,\omega,\psi_i)$.

Rafting of Ni‐Based Superalloys Under Multiaxial Load as Understood by Phase‐Field Simulations and Critical Experiments

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
Phase‐field simulations coupled with dislocation‐density‐based crystal plasticity modeling reproduce γ′ rafting behavior in single‐crystal Ni‐based superalloys under varied loading conditions. The model captures both macroscopic creep and microscopic morphology evolution, with results matching high‐temperature creep experiments.

Gluon Plasma Frequency -- the Next-to-Leading Order Term

open access: yes, 1993
The longitudinal-electric oscillations of the hot gluon system are studied beyond the well known leading order term at high temperature $T$ and small coupling $g$.

Phase Field Failure Modeling: Brittle‐Ductile Dual‐Phase Microstructures under Compressive Loading

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
The approach by Amor and the approach by Miehe and Zhang for asymmetric damage behavior in the phase field method for fracture are compared regarding their fitness for microcrack‐based failure modeling. The comparison is performed for the case of a dual‐phase microstructure with a brittle and a ductile constituent.

A note on optimal Hermite interpolation in Sobolev spaces

open access: yesJournal of Inequalities and Applications, 2022
This paper investigates the optimal Hermite interpolation of Sobolev spaces W ∞ n [ a , b ] $W_{\infty }^{n}[a,b]$ , n ∈ N $n\in \mathbb{N}$ in space L ∞ [ a , b ] $L_{\infty }[a,b]$ and weighted spaces L p , ω [ a , b ] $L_{p,\omega }[a,b]$ , 1 ≤ p < ∞ $

ON ALGEBRAIC EQUATION WITH COEFFICIENTS FROM THE $ \beta $-UNIFORM ALGEBRA $ C_{\beta} (\Omega) $

open access: yesProceedings of the YSU A: Physical and Mathematical Sciences, 2018
In this work the question of algebraic closeness of $ \beta $-uniform algebra $ A (\Omega) $ defined on locally compact space $ \Omega $ is investigated.

Numerical Exploration of Thermal Shock Resistance in MgO–C Refractories

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
A mesostructure‐resolved numerical framework is developed to evaluate the thermal shock resistance of MgO–C refractories. By modeling interface debonding under rapid temperature changes and introducing a modified thermal shock parameter that accounts for mesocracks, the study shows how graphite content and aggregate size influence thermal shock ...
