ATP13A2 is involved in intracellular polyamine transport in lung epithelial cells

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Spermidine transport in lung epithelial cells involves the polyamine transporter ATP13A2. Cell proliferation is associated with the upregulation of ATP13A2. Polyamines are present in all living cells and are implicated in various crucial cellular processes such as proliferation, apoptosis and autophagy.

Numerical simulation of cold forging process to investigate folding defect in enclosed dies

open access: yesMechanics and Advanced Technologies, 2017
In the precision forging industries, improving product quality and reducing product cost are important cases. Enclosed-die forging is one of the precision forging processes.

A combined phenomenological model for the representation of anisotropic hardening behavior in high strength steel line pipes

open access: yes, 2010
International audienceLine pipes have anisotropic mechanical properties, such as tensile strength, ductility and toughness. These properties depend on both prestrain during the cold forming process and on the anisotropy of the mother plates.

Magnetic Field in The Isolated Massive Dense Clump IRAS 20126+4104 [PDF]

open access: yes, 2012
We measured polarized dust emission at 350µm towards the high-mass star forming massive dense clump IRAS 20126+4104 using the SHARC II Polarimeter, SHARP, at the Caltech Submillimeter Observatory.

Metformin promotes mitochondrial integrity through AMPK‐signaling in Leber's hereditary optic neuropathy

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Metformin mediates mitochondrial quality control in Leber's hereditary optic neuropathy (LHON) fibroblasts carrying mtDNA mutations. At therapeutic levels, metformin activates AMPK signaling to restore mitochondrial dynamics by promoting fusion and restraining fission, while preserving mitochondrial mass, enhancing autophagy/mitophagy and biogenesis ...

Mathematical modeling of the process of forming the microrelief of cold-rolled strips [PDF]

open access: yes, 2014
The article deals with the development of a mathematical model for forming the microrelief of a strip surface during cold-rolling or temper-rolling.

Echo spectroscopy of Anderson localization

open access: yes, 2015
We propose a conceptually new framework to study the onset of Anderson localization in disordered systems. The idea is to expose waves propagating in a random scattering environment to a sequence of short dephasing pulses.

Shocks, cooling and the origin of star formation rates in spiral galaxies [PDF]

open access: yes, 2013
Understanding star formation is problematic as it originates in the large scale dynamics of a galaxy but occurs on the small scale of an individual star forming event.

Domain associated with zinc fingers‐containing NF90‐NF45 complex inhibits m6A modification of primary microRNA by suppressing METTL3/14 activity

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
NF90–NF45 functions as a negative regulator of methyltransferase‐like 3/14 (METTL3/14)‐mediated N6‐methyladenosine (m6A) modification on primary microRNAs (pri‐miRNAs). NF90–NF45 binds to anti‐oncogenic pri‐miRNAs and inhibits their m6A modification, thereby suppressing the biogenesis of anti‐oncogenic miRNAs.

Influence of the cold work effects in perforated rack columns under pure compression load [PDF]

open access: yes, 2015
This paper analyses the influence of residual stresses and strain hardening due to the cold rollforming process on the load carrying capacity of perforated rack columns.
