Valosin‐containing protein counteracts ATP‐driven dissolution of FUS condensates through its ATPase activity in vitro

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Biomolecular condensates formed by fused in sarcoma (FUS) are dissolved by high ATP concentrations yet persist in cells. Using a reconstituted system, we demonstrate that valosin‐containing protein (VCP), an AAA+ ATPase, counteracts ATP‐driven dissolution of FUS condensates through its D2 ATPase activity.

Searching for optimal integer solutions to set partitioning problems using column generation [PDF]

open access: yes, 2007
We describe a new approach to produce integer feasible columns to a set partitioning problem directly in solving the linear programming (LP) relaxation using column generation. Traditionally, column generation is aimed to solve the LP relaxation as quick

Dual targeting of RET and SRC synergizes in RET fusion‐positive cancer cells

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Despite the strong activity of selective RET tyrosine kinase inhibitors (TKIs), resistance of RET fusion‐positive (RET+) lung cancer and thyroid cancer frequently occurs and is mainly driven by RET‐independent bypass mechanisms. Son et al. show that SRC TKIs significantly inhibit PAK and AKT survival signaling and enhance the efficacy of RET TKIs in ...

A Column Generation Approach Based on Region Growth

open access: yesIEEE Access, 2019
In intensity-modulated radiation therapy (IMRT), a network flow is adopted to solve the pricing problem of the generic column generation approach in order to obtain a deliverable aperture.

Column-generation PM2.5 prediction based on image mixture kernel

open access: yes工程科学学报, 2020
The conventional method of PM2.5 prediction requires high-precision instruments to obtain data on the concentration of pollutants, resulting in a high prediction costs. In this work, we attempt to use image data to estimate PM2.5 concentration.

Dust obscuration studies along quasar sight lines using simulated galaxies

open access: yes, 2003
We use the results of a set of three-dimensional SPH-Treecode simulations which model the formation and early evolution of disk galaxies, including the generation of heavy elements by star formation, to investigate the effects of dust absorption in ...

Detection of circulating tumor DNA in colorectal cancer patients using a methylation‐specific droplet digital PCR multiplex

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
We developed a cost‐effective methylation‐specific droplet digital PCR multiplex assay containing tissue‐conserved and tumor‐specific methylation markers. The assay can detect circulating tumor DNA with high accuracy in patients with localized and metastatic colorectal cancer.

Branch-and-price-and-cut for large-scale multicommodity capacitated fixed-charge network design

open access: yesEURO Journal on Computational Optimization, 2014
We present a branch-and-price-and-cut algorithm for solving large-scale instances of the multicommodity capacitated fixed-charge network design problem.

The Single Period Coverage Facility Location Problem: Lagrangean heuristic and column generation approaches [PDF]

open access: yes, 2010
In this paper we introduce the Single Period Coverage Facility Location Problem. It is a multi-period discrete location problem in which each customer is serviced in exactly one period of the planning horizon.

Transcriptional network analysis of PTEN‐protein‐deficient prostate tumors reveals robust stromal reprogramming and signs of senescent paracrine communication

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Combining PTEN protein assessment and transcriptomic profiling of prostate tumors, we uncovered a network enriched in senescence and extracellular matrix (ECM) programs associated with PTEN loss and conserved in a mouse model. We show that PTEN‐deficient cells trigger paracrine remodeling of the surrounding stroma and this information could help ...
