The Column Generation Technique for Public Transport Line Planning by IP-Solver

open access: yesCommunications, 2010
The paper deals with an application of the column generation method to the public transport line planning making use of a common optimization environment.

Effective therapeutic targeting of CTNNB1‐mutant hepatoblastoma with WNTinib

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
WNTinib, a Wnt/CTNNB1 inhibitor, was tested in hepatoblastoma (HB) experimental models. It delayed tumor growth and improved survival in CTNNB1‐mutant in vivo models. In organoids, WNTinib outperformed cisplatin and showed enhanced efficacy in combination therapy, supporting its potential as a targeted treatment for CTNNB1‐mutated HB.

Audit-Staff Scheduling by Column Generation [PDF]

open access: yes, 2007
When scheduling its audit-staff, the management of an auditing firm encompasses a number of decisions. These may be grouped into several categories which differ markedly in terms of organizational echelon involved, length of the planning horizon and the planning periods, degree of aggregation of the audit tasks, degree of detail of the required ...

Monitoring of circulating tumor DNA allows early detection of disease relapse in patients with operable breast cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Monitoring circulating tumor DNA (ctDNA) in patients with operable breast cancer can reveal disease relapse earlier than radiology in a subset of patients. The failure to detect ctDNA in some patients with recurrent disease suggests that ctDNA could serve as a supplement to other monitoring approaches.

A patterning algorithm for the dynamic bin packing problem with placement groups

open access: yesМоделирование и анализ информационных систем
We consider an NP-hard problem of dynamically distributing virtual machines to servers with placement groups. For each virtual machine, parameters such as required number of resources and creation and deletion timestamps are known.

A hybrid column generation algorithm based on metaheuristic optimization

open access: yesTransport, 2016
The exact solution and heuristic solution have their own strengths and weaknesses on solving the Vehicle Routing Problems with Time Windows (VRPTW).

Combining Column Generation and Lagrangian Relaxation [PDF]

open access: yes
Although the possibility to combine column generation and Lagrangian relaxation has been known for quite some time, it has only recently been exploited in algorithms. In this paper, we discuss ways of combining these techniques.

ATF4‐mediated stress response as a therapeutic vulnerability in chordoma

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
We screened 5 chordoma cell lines against 100+ inhibitors of epigenetic and metabolic pathways and kinases and identified halofuginone, a tRNA synthetase inhibitor. Mechanistically halofuginone induces an integrated stress response, with eIF2alpha phosphorylation, activation of ATF4 and its target genes CHOP, ASNS, INHBE leading to cell death ...

Combinatorial Robust Optimization with Decision-Dependent Information Discovery and Polyhedral Uncertainty

open access: yesOpen Journal of Mathematical Optimization
Given a nominal combinatorial optimization problem, we consider a robust two-stages variant with polyhedral cost uncertainty, called Decision-Dependent Information Discovery (DDID). In the first stage, DDID selects a subset of uncertain cost coefficients
