Telomere biology disorders may manifest as common variable immunodeficiency (CVID)
Clinical Immunology, 2023Telomere biology disorders (TBD) are caused by germline pathogenic variants in genes related to telomere maintenance and are characterized by critically short telomeres. In contrast to classical dyskeratosis congenita (DC), which is typically diagnosed in infancy, adult or late onset TBD frequently lack the typical DC triad and rather show variable ...

Common variable immunodeficiency (CVID) represents a large heterogeneous group of antibody deficiency syndromes associated with a plethora of clinical features and as yet largely undefined molecular causes. We are now seeing this heterogeneous group being increasingly defined into single‐gene and polygenic disorders after stratification into ...

Treatment and outcome of autoimmune hematologic disease in common variable immunodeficiency (CVID)
Journal of Autoimmunity, 2005Common variable immunodeficiency (CVID) is associated with autoimmunity, most commonly immune thrombocytopenic purpura (ITP) and autoimmune hemolytic anemia (AIHA). In a retrospective chart review of 326 CVID patients, 35 (11%) patients had a history of autoimmune hematologic disease.

Role of Apoptosis in the Pathogenesis of Common Variable Immunodeficiency (CVID)
Endocrine, Metabolic & Immune Disorders - Drug Targets, 2017Common variable immunodeficiency (CVID) is a heterogeneous immune deficiency characterized by hypogammaglobulinemia. Since B cell maturation and differentiation is defective in this disorder, we evaluated apoptosis in B cells of patients with CVID compared with healthy donors (HD).Determination of peripheral blood B-cell subsets in CVID and HDs, was ...
