Active vaccination in patients with common variable immunodeficiency (CVID)

Clinical Immunology, 2007
Active vaccination of CVID patients with standard vaccines has rarely been studied in depth although some patients have been shown to develop transient vaccine-specific immunity. We addressed the question whether these patients can be identified by functional classification of their B cell subsets in vitro.

Influenza Vaccination in Patients with Common Variable Immunodeficiency (CVID)

Current Allergy and Asthma Reports, 2017
Vaccination against influenza in patients with primary antibody deficiency is recommended. Common variable immunodeficiency (CVID) is the most frequent and clinically relevant antibody deficiency disease and is by definition characterized by an impaired vaccination response.

COMMON VARIABLE IMMUNODEFICIENCY (CVID): CASE REPORT AND REVIEW OF THE LITERATURE

Acta Clinica Belgica, 2009
Common variable immunodeficiency (CVID) is an immunodeficiency disease characterized by diminished ability to produce immunoglobulins. CVID has an estimated incidence of 1:10,000 to 1:200,000 (male:female 1:1) and usually presents in the second and third decade, although it also has a peak of incidence in childhood.

Comprehensive Assessment of Skin Disorders in Patients with Common Variable Immunodeficiency (CVID)

Journal of Clinical Immunology, 2022
Common variable immunodeficiency (CVID) is an inborn error of immunity (IEI) characterized by various clinical manifestations such as hypogammaglobulinemia, recurrent infections, and autoimmune diseases. Among different clinical manifestations, skin manifestations have been less reported in these patients. In this study, we investigated the prevalence ...

Lymphocyte alterations in patients with Common Variable Immunodeficiency (CVID) and autoimmune manifestations

Clinical Immunology, 2022
Autoimmunity is a common feature in CVID patients. To date the mechanisms leading to the development of such complications are not fully elucidated.Data from 122 CVID patients subdivided in three groups based on the absence of autoimmunity (n-AI) or the presence of hematologic autoimmune phenomena (Cy-AI) or non-hematologic autoimmune phenomena (n-Cy ...

RESPIRATORY MANIFESTATIONS OF COMMON VARIABLE IMMUNODEFICIENCY (CVID)

2013
Primary humoral immunodeficiencies are diseases with alterations in the antibody response and consecutively with an increased rate of infections with encapsulated bacterial organisms. This group includes diseases with exclusively humoral deficiency and diseases that show defect of both humoral and cellular immunity.
