Learning compact and interpretable representations is a very natural task, which has not been solved satisfactorily even for simple binary datasets. In this paper, we review various ways of composing experts for binary data and argue that competitive forms of interaction are best suited to learn low-dimensional representations.

Mouse pre‐implantation development involves a transition from totipotency to pluripotency. Integrating transcriptomics, epigenetic profiling, low‐input proteomics and functional assays, we show that eight‐cell embryos retain residual totipotency features, whereas cytoskeletal remodeling regulated by the ubiquitin‐proteasome system drives progression ...

Criticality of compact and noncompact quantum dissipative $Z_4$ models in $(1+1)$ dimensions
Using large-scale Monte Carlo computations, we study two versions of a $(1+1)D$ $Z_4$-symmetric model with Ohmic bond dissipation. In one of these versions, the variables are restricted to the interval $[0,2\pi>$, while the domain is unrestricted in the ...

Automated compact dynamical modeling [PDF]
In this paper we summarize recent developments in compact dynamical modeling for both linear and nonlinear systems arising in analog applications. These techniques include methods based on the projection framework, rational fitting of frequency response samples, and nonlinear system identification from time domain data.

ABSTRACT Background Accessing brain magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) can be challenging, especially for underserved patients, which may lead to disparities in neurological diagnosis. Method This mixed‐methods study enrolled adults with one of four neurological disorders: mild cognitive impairment or dementia of the Alzheimer type, multiple sclerosis ...

Ketogenic Diet as an Epigenetic Therapy in SETD1B‐Related Epilepsy
ABSTRACT Histone lysine methyltransferases such as SETD1B regulate chromatin structure and gene transcription. Ketone bodies, including butyrate, act as histone deacetylase inhibitors. We report a 4‐year‐old boy with SETD1B‐related absence epilepsy, refractory to conventional medications, who achieved sustained > 90% seizure reduction on the Modified ...

Volatile MoS2 Memristors with Lateral Silver Ion Migration for Artificial Neuron Applications
Layered 2D semiconductors have shown enhanced ion migration capabilities along their van der Waals (vdW) gaps and on their surfaces. This effect can be employed for resistive switching (RS) in devices for emerging memories, selectors, and neuromorphic ...

Poisson-Lie T-duality and N=2 superconformal WZNW models on compact groups
The supersymmetric generalization of Pisson-Lie T-duality in N=2 superconformal WZNW models on the compact groups is considered. It is shown that the role of Drinfeld's doubles play the complexifications of the corresponding compact groups. These complex
