Therapeutic applications of a novel humanized monoclonal antibody targeting chemokine receptor CCR9 in pancreatic cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
C–C chemokine receptor type 9 (CCR9) is an immune checkpoint in pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma (PDAC). Novel anti‐CCR9 antibody SRB2 was evaluated in combination with cytotoxic chemotherapy in PDAC cells, patient‐derived organoids, patient‐derived xenografts, and humanized mouse models.

Outsourcing Competence [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2011
The topic of this paper, competences needed for outsourcing, is organized by first providing a generic competence scheme, which is subsequently instantiated to the area of sourcing and outsourcing. Sourcing and outsourcing are positioned as different areas of activity, neither one of which is subsumed under the other one.

K-Nearest Oracles Borderline Dynamic Classifier Ensemble Selection [PDF]

open access: yes, 2018
Dynamic Ensemble Selection (DES) techniques aim to select locally competent classifiers for the classification of each new test sample. Most DES techniques estimate the competence of classifiers using a given criterion over the region of competence of the test sample (its the nearest neighbors in the validation set).

A new perspective on the competent programmer hypothesis through the reproduction of bugs with repeated mutations [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2021
The competent programmer hypothesis states that most programmers are competent enough to create correct or almost correct source code. Because this implies that bugs should usually manifest through small variations of the correct code, the competent programmer hypothesis is one of the fundamental assumptions of mutation testing.

BMP antagonist CHRDL2 enhances the cancer stem‐cell phenotype and increases chemotherapy resistance in colorectal cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Overexpression of CHRDL2 in colon cancer cells makes them more stem‐like and resistant to chemo‐ and radiotherapy. CHRDL2‐high cells have upregulation of the WNT pathway, genes involved in the DNA damage response (DDR) pathway and epithelial‐to‐mesenchymal transition (EMT). This leads to quicker repair of damaged DNA and more cell migration.

From Horseback Riding to Changing the World: UX Competence as a Journey [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2020
In this paper, we explore the notion of competence in UX based on the perspective of practitioners. As a result of this exploration, we observed four domains through which we conceptualize a plan of sources of competence that describes the ways a UX practitioner develop competence. Based on this plane, we present the idea of competence as a journey.
