A Study of Serum C3 and C4 Levels in Burn Patients: Possible Prognostic Markers?
Background: Burns are a public health problem across the world and a major burden on health care resources. Identifying major burns including those more likely to develop sepsis will help a lot in their management. Purpose: This study was undertaken to

Molecular Chain Elongation Mechanism for n‐Caproate Biosynthesis by Megasphaera Hexanoica
The medium‐chain carboxylate‐producing microbe Megasphaera hexanoica is analyzed through genomics, transcriptomics, and metabolic engineering. The n‐caproate biosynthetic pathway is reconstructed in Escherichia coli, highlighting MhTHL as a key β‐ketothiolase. Structural analysis and mutagenesis reveal that MhTHL has a distinct substrate‐binding pocket,

Regulation of B-cell tolerance by complement C4
Systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE) is a B-cell-dependent autoimmune disease characterized by autoantibodies specific for nuclear antigens such as dsDNA and histones. Apoptotic blebs released from dying cells are thought to represent a major source of autoantigen.

This study primarily reveals that PM2.5‐derived Fe‐containing particles, particularly magnetite, are specifically enriched in the heart. Here, they interact with NCOA4 in endothelial cells, disrupt iron homeostasis by enhancing ferritinophagy, and subsequently trigger the process of EndMT through the NCOA4/KLF5 pathway.

An electro–magnetic–porous multigradient nanofibrous electromagnetic interference (EMI) membrane is fabricated via shear‐induced in situ fibrillation and layer‐by‐layer assembly. Leveraging a multigradient‐induced “impedance matching–polarization–reabsorption” synergistic mechanism, the membrane achieves absorption‐dominated high‐efficiency EMI ...
