Complete response to disitamab vedotin in HER2-low metastatic endometrial carcinoma: a case report and review of the literature

open access: yesFrontiers in Oncology
Endometrial cancer (EC) is one of the most common gynecologic malignancies with increasing morbidity. The prognosis for patients diagnosed with early-stage EC remains favorable; however, for patients with recurrent or metastatic EC, the prognosis is poor

Factors Affecting the Complete Response in Breast and Axillary Regions Following Neoadjuvant Chemotherapy for Breast Cancer [PDF]

open access: yes
Aim: Neoadjuvant chemotherapy (NAC) has transitioned from a treatment modality used solely for inoperable and locally advanced breast cancer to a therapeutic approach for early-stage breast cancer. High-risk patients, such as those with HER2-positive and

Forecasting the Dialysis Burden in Japan: Validation‐Based Projections of Prevalence and Incidence Through 2050

open access: yesTherapeutic Apheresis and Dialysis, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Background Japan has one of the highest dialysis prevalence rates worldwide and a shrinking, aging population. Whether dialysis burden has entered a sustained post‐peak phase or whether recent declines partly reflect pandemic‐related disruptions remains uncertain.

Relevance of Pathological Complete Response after Neoadjuvant Therapy for Breast Cancer

open access: yes, 2016
Breast cancer is a heterogeneous disease, and the different biological subtypes have different prognostic impacts. Neoadjuvant trials have recently become popular as they offer several advantages compared to traditional adjuvant trials.

Degradation mechanism of the von Willebrand factor A2 domain by nattokinase

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Nattokinase, a natto‐derived protease, exhibits potent antithrombotic effects. This study demonstrates that nattokinase directly cleaves the von Willebrand factor (vWF) A2 domain in vitro. Unlike the native regulator ADAMTS13, nattokinase degrades folded vWF independently of shear stress.

The Role of Baseline PET/CT Parameters in Predicting Treatment Response in Patients with Locally Advanced Rectal Cancer Undergoing Total Neoadjuvant Therapy

open access: yesMedicina
Background and Objectives: Total neoadjuvant therapy (TNT) for locally advanced rectal cancer (LARC) offers significant advantages in terms of pathologic response and long-term survival; however, it is still unclear which patients will benefit the most ...

Salmonella lipopolysaccharide‐containing supported lipid bilayers as platforms to study bacteriophage interactions

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
We present robust protocols for the preparation of supported lipid bilayers (SLBs) incorporating either Salmonella smooth LPS or outer membrane vesicles (OMVs). We use a combination of quartz crystal microbalance with dissipation (QCM‐D) and fluorescence microscopy to both characterize the SLBs of various compositions and to probe their interactions ...

Structural insights and therapeutic targets in Acinetobacter baumannii capsule biosynthesis

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Hypervirulent KL49 A. baumannii's capsular polysaccharide contains the nonulosonic acid 8‐epi‐Leg5,7Ac2, synthesized by epimerization via ElaA, ElaB, and ElaC. Crystal structures of ElaA, ElaB, and ElaC reveal their role in CMP‐Leg5,7Ac2 synthesis and regioselective C8 epimerization.
