First Abundance Measurement of Organic Molecules in the Atmosphere of HH 212 Protostellar Disk [PDF]
HH 212 is one of the well-studied protostellar systems, showing the first vertically resolved disk with a warm atmosphere around the central protostar.

We reconstituted Synechocystis glycogen synthesis in vitro from purified enzymes and showed that two GlgA isoenzymes produce glycogen with different architectures: GlgA1 yields denser, highly branched glycogen, whereas GlgA2 synthesizes longer, less‐branched chains.

Enols—tautomers of ketones or aldehydes—are considered key intermediates in the formation of prebiotic sugars and sugar acids. Although laboratory simulation experiments suggest that enols should be ubiquitous in the interstellar medium, the underlying ...

Retail Clerks International Protective Association, Local 872 (1936) [PDF]
Improved methods for quickly identifying neutral organic compounds and differentiation of analytes with similar chemical structures are widely needed. We report a new approach to effectively “fingerprint” neutral organic molecules by using 19F NMR and ...

UV and VUV Ionization of Organic Molecules, Clusters, and Complexes [PDF]
The generation of organic particle beams is studied in combination with photoionization using uv radiation at 266 nm and vuv light at 157 nm. Single-photon ionization with pulsed vuv light turns out to be sensitive enough to detect various large neutral biomolecular complexes ranging from metal-amino acid complexes to nucleotide clusters and aggregates

Structural biology of ferritin nanocages
Ferritin is a conserved iron‐storage protein that sequesters iron as a ferric mineral core within a nanocage, protecting cells from oxidative damage and maintaining iron homeostasis. This review discusses ferritin biology, structure, and function, and highlights recent cryo‐EM studies revealing mechanisms of ferritinophagy, cellular iron uptake, and ...

One-dimensional and time-dependent modelling of complex organic molecules in protostars
Complex organic molecules (COMs), the building blocks of life, have been extensively detected under various physical conditions, from quiescent clouds to star-forming regions.

Organic material in meteorites and the link to the origin of life
Life requires specific conditions that have been, so far, only proven to meet on Earth. Though the chemical elements required to form living organism (C, H, N, O, S, etc) are widespread in the universe, the molecules that are crucial for Life, like ...

Organic multicomponent microparticle libraries
The synthesis of alloyed complex multicomponent micro- and nanoparticles composed of organic molecules is challenging. Here, the authors demonstrate a library of mixed composition organic microparticles in comprising up to four compounds in their ...
