Circular RNA expression landscapes in myelodysplastic neoplasms: Associations with mutational signatures and disease progression

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
In this explorative study, the abundance of circular RNA molecules in bone marrow stem cells was found to be elevated in patients with high‐risk myelodysplastic neoplasms, and to be associated with an increased risk of progression to acute myeloid leukemia.

The treatment of corner and pole-type singularities in numerical conformal mapping techniques

open access: yes, 1984
This paper is a report of recent developments concerning the nature and the treatment of singularities that affect certain numerical conformal mapping techniques.

Subtype‐specific enhancer RNAs define transcriptional regulators and prognosis in breast cancers

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This study employed machine learning methodologies to perform the subtype‐specific classification of RNA‐seq data sets, which are mapped on enhancers from TCGA‐derived breast cancer patients. Their integration with gene expression (referred to as ProxCReAM eRNAs) and chromatin accessibility profiles has the potential to identify lineage‐specific and ...

Singularities in the complex physical plane for deep water waves

open access: yes, 2011
Deep water waves in two-dimensional flow can have curvature singularities on the surface profile; for example, the limiting Stokes wave has a corner of $2\lrm{\pi} / 3$ radians and the limiting standing wave momentarily forms a corner of $\lrm{\pi} / 2 ...

Dynamics of critical collapse

open access: yesEuropean Physical Journal C: Particles and Fields, 2019
Critical collapse of a massless scalar field in spherical symmetry is systematically studied. We combine numerical simulations and asymptotic analysis, and synthesize critical collapse, spacetime singularities, and complex science.

Network divergence analysis identifies adaptive gene modules and two orthogonal vulnerability axes in pancreatic cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Tumors contain diverse cellular states whose behavior is shaped by context‐dependent gene coordination. By comparing gene–gene relationships across biological contexts, we identify adaptive transcriptional modules that reorganize into distinct vulnerability axes.

Singular Reduction of Generalized Complex Manifolds [PDF]

open access: yesSymmetry, Integrability and Geometry: Methods and Applications, 2010
In this paper, we develop results in the direction of an analogue of Sjamaar and Lerman's singular reduction of Hamiltonian symplectic manifolds in the context of reduction of Hamiltonian generalized complex manifolds (in the sense of Lin and Tolman).

Somatic mutational landscape in von Hippel–Lindau familial hemangioblastoma

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
The causes of central nervous system (CNS) hemangioblastoma in Von Hippel–Lindau (vHL) disease are unclear. We used Whole Exome Sequencing (WES) on familial hemangioblastoma to investigate events that underlie tumor development. Our findings suggest that VHL loss creates a permissive environment for tumor formation, while additional alterations ...
