Component integration through built-in contract testing

open access: yes, 2022
S.159-183 : Ill., Lit.This chapter describes a technology and methodology referred to as built-in contract testing that checks the pairwise interactions of components in component-based software construction at integration and deployment time.

Integrated framework for development and execution of component-based Grid applications [PDF]

open access: yes, 2008
Component-based software technologies have emerged as a modern approach to software development for distributed and grid applications. However, the lack of longer-term experience and the complexity of the target systems demand more research results in ...

Modulation of Homer1 EVH1 domain internal dynamics by putative autism‐associated mutations

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
The putative autism‐associated M65I and S97L variants of the EVH1 domain of the postsynaptic scaffold protein Homer1 do not exhibit substantial changes in their overall structure or partner binding. Both of them, but especially the M65I variant, show altered internal dynamics relative to the wild‐type domain on the μs‐ms timescale, indicated by the ...

Adaptive development and maintenance of user-centric software systems [PDF]

open access: yes, 2004
A software system cannot be developed without considering the various facets of its environment. Stakeholders – including the users that play a central role – have their needs, expectations, and perceptions of a system.

An MDA Approach to Tame Component Based Software Development [PDF]

open access: yes, 2004
The aim of this paper is to show how the Model Driven Architecture (MDA) can be used in relation with component based software engineer- ing. A software component only exhibits its provided or required interfaces, hence defining basic contracts between components allowing one to properly wire them.

PARK(ing) time–How park deficiency affects the biological clock in a Drosophila model of Parkinson's disease

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Drosophila park mutants serve as a model for Parkinson's disease. We used this strain to investigate the connection between oxidative stress and the circadian clock mechanism. We showed that increased oxidative stress affects the physiology of pacemaker cells, disrupting their daily structural plasticity. Lack of rhythmic signaling from pacemaker cells

Semantic Integrity in Component Based Development

open access: yes, 2002
Due to the distributed nature of the growing field of Component Based Software Engineering (CBSE) and the increasing complexity of modern systems, the semantic aspects of software components must be well specified.

Industrial Requirements on Component Technologies for Embedded Systems

open access: yes, 2004
Software component technologies have not yet been generally accepted by embedded-systems industries. In order to better understand why this is the case, we present a set of requirements, based on industrial needs, that are deemed decisive for introducing

COMPOR: a Methodology, a Component Model, a Component based Framework and Tools to Build Multiagent Systems

open access: yesCLEI Electronic Journal, 2004
In this paper a set of guidelines, techniques and tools to develop software for multiagent systems (MAS), named COMPOR, are introduced. The main objetive is to provide an effective approach to deal with the dynamic and openness characteristics of such ...

The role of miR‐335‐5p in the redifferentiation of BRAF p.V600E thyroid cancers

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
The BRAF p.V600E mutation promotes thyroid cancer dedifferentiation and radioiodine resistance. Using a network approach, we identified miR‐335‐5p as a key regulator of BRAF‐mutated thyroid tumors. Restoring miR‐335‐5p increased thyroid‐specific gene expression and iodine uptake in cells and organoids.
