Supplement to On Computing Gauss-Kronrod Quadrature Formulae

Mathematics of Computation, 1986
This supplement to the paper reviewed above comprises a 25 decimal place list of numerical values of weights and abscissas. These are for the \((2n+1)\)-point Gauss-Kronrod formula over [0,1] with respect to the weight functions \(t^{\alpha} \ln (1/t)\) \((\alpha =0,\); \(n=5(5)25\) and \(\alpha =-\); \(n=4(4)24)\).

The Obsolescence of Computational Formulae

Teaching Statistics, 2009
SummaryComputational formulae are a throwback to a time when computers were not widely available. Today their teaching obscures important underpinnings of statistical theory and practice.

Formulas and Computations in Agriculture

2018
This book aims to be a basic and fundamental book for the students and researchers in numerical solving. The book has been designed in a very simple language. Formulas have been presented in the most fundamental and basic calculations. The book has been divided into several chapters and broadly reflects the need of such subject selection as most of the

Formulae for computing ellipsoidal parameters

Journal of Geodesy, 1981
The formulae for computing ellipsoidal parameters presented in this paper serve the following four cases: (1) a, J2, GM, ω or (2) a, f, GM, ω or (3) a, f, γe, ω or (4) a, f, γe, f1 are predefined. In the first two cases, formulae are derived with an accuracy of the order of f5 for the “Geodetic Reference System”.

Computation formulas for ellipsometric quantities

Optics Communications, 1969
Abstract A general theory of ellipsometric measurements based on matrix formalism, fit to all ellipsometric arrangements is given. The exact formulas for ξ and Δ quantities in the case of an ellipsometer with a non-ideal quarter wave plate are given as well.

Computing Equilibrium Models Using Signed Formulas

2000
We discuss equilibrium logic, first presented in Pearce (1997), as a system of nonmonotonic reasoning based on the nonclassical logic N5 of here-and-there with strong negation. Equilibrium logic is a conservative extension of answer set inference, not only for extended, disjunctive logic programs, but also for significant extensions such as the ...

Embedded computing and Formula One racing

IEEE Pervasive Computing, 2005
In countries around the globe, the high end of auto racing is epitomized by Formula One. F1 cars are marvels of high technology. Connected to an experimental transmission and placed in a body designed for its aerodynamic properties, F1's equipment requires constant innovation.

Definition and Computation of Carson Formulas

2017
In this paper, a new numerical algorithm for high-accurate computation of exact Carson formulas is developed. Carson formulas are used for computing of per-unit-length (pul) self and mutual impedances of infinitely long parallel conductors. The proposed algorithm is based on piecewise linear approximation of kernel function and analytical integrations ...
