Biodynamics of supine humans and interaction with transport systems during vibration and shocks

open access: yesJournal of Low Frequency Noise, Vibration and Active Control, 2019
This work investigates the effect of the contact surfaces on the biomechanical response of supine humans during whole-body vibration and shocks. Twelve participants were exposed to three-dimensional random vibration and shocks and were tested with two ...

Joint Center Estimation Using Single-Frame Optimization: Part 2: Experimentation

open access: yesSensors, 2018
Human motion capture is driven by joint center location estimates, and error in their estimation can be compounded by subsequent kinematic calculations. Soft tissue artifact (STA), the motion of tissue relative to the underlying bones, is a primary cause

Comprehensive omics‐based classification system in adult patients with B‐cell acute lymphoblastic leukemia

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
The COMBAT classification system, developed through multi‐omics integration, stratifies adult patients with B‐cell acute lymphoblastic leukemia(B‐ALL) into three molecular subtypes with distinct surface antigen patterns, immune landscape, methylation patterns, biological pathways and prognosis.

Circulating tumor DNA monitoring and blood tumor mutational burden in patients with metastatic solid tumors treated with atezolizumab

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
In patients treated with atezolizumab as a part of the MyPathway (NCT02091141) trial, pre‐treatment ctDNA tumor fraction at high levels was associated with poor outcomes (radiographic response, progression‐free survival, and overall survival) but better sensitivity for blood tumor mutational burden (bTMB).

A pentagonal surface patch for computer-aided geometric design [PDF]

open access: yes, 1981
A vector valued interpolation scheme for a pentagon is described which is compatible with surface patches which have a rectangular domain of definition. Such a scheme could be useful in computer- aided geometric design problems, where a pentagonal patch ...

BMP antagonist CHRDL2 enhances the cancer stem‐cell phenotype and increases chemotherapy resistance in colorectal cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Overexpression of CHRDL2 in colon cancer cells makes them more stem‐like and resistant to chemo‐ and radiotherapy. CHRDL2‐high cells have upregulation of the WNT pathway, genes involved in the DNA damage response (DDR) pathway and epithelial‐to‐mesenchymal transition (EMT). This leads to quicker repair of damaged DNA and more cell migration.

Compact Manufacturing Systems Structural Synthesis Automation

open access: yesCommunications, 2000
In the paper the problems of collective designing of modern industrial systems in the "Lean Production" concept are considered. The definition of compact manufacturing system (CMS) is given, and the original principles of industrial compactness ...
