Modeling the relationship between climate oscillations and drought by a multivariate GARCH model. [PDF]
Typical multivariate time series models may exhibit comovement in mean but not in variance of hydrologic and climatic variables. This paper introduces multivariate generalized autoregressive conditional heteroscedasticity (GARCH) models to capture the ...

Advances in causal discovery methods for ecological time series
ABSTRACT Recent advances in data collection technologies (e.g. automated sensor networks, satellite remote sensing, and high‐throughput sequencing) have greatly expanded the availability of ecological time series, enabling new opportunities for causal analyses in dynamic ecosystems.

The authors obtain sufficient conditions to assure that all the solutions to the equation \(x_{n+1}-x_n+p_n x_{n-k}=0\), \(n=0,1, 2, \ldots\) are oscillatory. They allow functions \(p_n\) to be nonoscillatory. The obtained results improve some previous results given for the case \(p_n \geq 0\) for \(n\) large enough.

ABSTRACT Small cultural museums play an important role in sustaining local heritage, community identity and inclusive cultural participation, yet they face persistent financial and organisational constraints. This study examines how financial sustainability is achieved and maintained in three small cultural museums through a qualitative‐led mixed ...

Hydrogen combustion is attracting attentions because of zero CO2 emission. Recently, a gas turbine which uses hydrogen-rich fuel is being developed. In our previous study, we examined the influence of hydrogen-containing ratio on combustion oscillation for fuel mixtures of hydrogen and town gas (13A) experimentally.

Asymptotic properties of cross‐classified sampling designs
Abstract We investigate the family of cross‐classified sampling designs across an arbitrary number of dimensions. We introduce a variance decomposition that enables the derivation of general asymptotic properties for these designs and the development of straightforward and asymptotically unbiased variance estimators.

Actuarial Implication of Structural Changes in El Niño-Southern Oscillation Index Dynamics
[[abstract]]In this paper, we undertake a case study of El Niño-Southern Oscillation Index insurance for coastal Peru proposed by Skees. We examined the behavior of El Niño dynamics and found El Niño indices are changing over time. A class of generalized
