A responsive integrated dry route for uranium hexafluoride conversion using machine intelligence

open access: yesEnergy Conversion and Management: X
A modification of the integrated dry route (IDR) process for uranium conversion in nuclear fuel fabrication to render it responsive to react and adapt to changes in measured variables is described.

CD47 promotes mitogen‐activated protein kinase and epithelial‐to‐mesenchymal transition molecular programs to drive prometastatic phenotypes in non‐small cell lung cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Beyond its role in immune evasion, this study identified that CD47 drives tumor‐intrinsic signaling in non‐small cell lung cancer (NSCLC). Transcriptomic profiling and functional studies revealed that CD47 regulates cell adhesion, migration, and metastasis through an ERK–EMT signaling axis.

Hijacking emergency granulopoiesis: Neutrophil ontogeny and reprogramming in cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Neutrophils are highly plastic innate immune cells; their functions in cancer extend beyond the tumour microenvironment. This Review summarises current understanding of neutrophil maturation and heterogeneity and highlights tumour‐induced granulopoiesis as a systemic programme that expands immature, immunosuppressive neutrophils via tumour‐derived ...

Invertibility Conditions for Block Matrices and Estimates for Norms of Inverse Matrices

open access: yesRocky Mountain Journal of Mathematics, 2003
The author derives a non-sigularity criterion for block matrices. Invertibility conditions which improve well-known results for matrices that are ``close'' to block triangular matrices are proposed. Finally an estimate for the norm of the inverse matrices is derived.

Adaptor protein CIN85 potentiates the motility of osteosarcoma cells via the Akt/mTOR and MMP2‐COL3A1 axis

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
CIN85 is highly expressed in osteosarcoma, particularly in metastatic lesions. Its overexpression increases cell migration and Matrigel invasion, while silencing CIN85 suppresses these behaviors. Transcriptome analysis shows that CIN85 regulates MMP2, COL3A1, and Akt/mTOR signaling. Targeting these pathways reverses CIN85‐induced motility, highlighting

Interaction of HS1BP3 with cortactin modulates TKS5 localisation, cell secretion and cancer malignancy

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Here, we demonstrate that HS1BP3 interacts with Cortactin through a proline‐rich region (PRR3.1) and show that this interaction, and HS1BP3 itself, promote cancer cell proliferation and invasion. Inhibition of this interaction leads to build‐up of TKS5 in multivesicular endosomes and altered secretion of CD63 and CD9, providing an explanation for the ...

Structural analysis on flexibility training in men's artistic gymnastics/Análisis estructural sobre el entrenamiento de la flexibilidad en gimnasia artística masculina

open access: yesPodium, 2021
The importance and transcendence of each variable that influences flexibility training in gymnasts, evaluated by specialists, could be modeled prospectively to consider medium and long term decisions related to the training management process.

Interpreting the effects of DNA polymerase variants at the structural level

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Using MAVISp and molecular dynamics simulations, we analyzed over 60 000 missense variants in POLE and POLD1 from ClinVar, COSMIC, cBioPortal, and saturation mutagenesis. Identified mechanistic indicators, including stability, binding, and long‐range, enable structural interpretation, providing ACMG‐like evidence for possible reclassification of VUS ...

Assessment of physical properties developed and leaching capability by binary and ternary cementitious mixtures containing spent ion-exchange resins

open access: yesNuclear Engineering and Technology
Ion-exchange resins (IERs) are used for the decontamination of effluents from chemical impurities and radioisotopes in the primary and secondary cooling circuits of pressured water reactors.
