Design and Optimization of Conformal Cooling Channels for Increasing Cooling Efficiency in Injection Molding

open access: yesApplied Sciences, 2023
Injection molding is widely used in the manufacturing process of plastic products. The injection molding process aims to increase productivity, which is impacted by factors such as cooling time, the temperature distribution of plastic parts, thermal ...

A factorization of a super-conformal map [PDF]

open access: yesIsrael Journal of Mathematics, 2015
A super-conformal map and a minimal surface are factored into a product of two maps by modeling the Euclidean four-space and the complex Euclidean plane on the set of all quaternions. One of these two maps is a holomorphic map or a meromorphic map. These conformal maps adopt properties of a holomorphic function or a meromorphic function. Analogs of the

Conformational Variability of Nucleo-cytoplasmic Transport Factors [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Biological Chemistry, 2004
The transport of macromolecules between the nucleus and cytoplasm of eukaryotic cells is largely mediated by a single family of transport factors, the karyopherin or importin beta-like family. Structural and biochemical evidence suggests conformational flexibility of these modular HEAT-repeat proteins is crucial for their regulation.

On Conformal Conic Mappings of Spherical Domains

open access: yesThe Scientific World Journal, 2014
The problem of the generation of homogeneous grids for spherical domains is considered in the class of conformal conic mappings. The equivalence between secant and tangent projections is shown and splitting the set of conformal conic mappings into ...

Revisiting Vaidya Horizons

open access: yesGalaxies, 2014
In this study, we located and compared different types of horizons in the spherically symmetric Vaidya solution. The horizons we found were trapping horizons, which can be null, timelike, or spacelike, null surfaces with constant area change and also ...

On integrating factors and on conformal mappings [PDF]

open access: yesTransactions of the American Mathematical Society, 1958
In both cases, x and y are real variables, while T, w are real-valued in case (i) but complex-valued in (ii). In the real case (i), 1/T is what is usually called an integrating factor for co. The solution of the problem in this case depends on the theory of ordinary differential equations. Part I will deal with this case.

Enteropathogenic E. coli shows delayed attachment and host response in human jejunum organoid‐derived monolayers compared to HeLa cells

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Enteropathogenic E. coli (EPEC) infects the human intestinal epithelium, resulting in severe illness and diarrhoea. In this study, we compared the infection of cancer‐derived cell lines with human organoid‐derived models of the small intestine. We observed a delayed in attachment, inflammation and cell death on primary cells, indicating that host ...

Identification of the Furanose Ring Conformations and the Factors Driving Their Adoption

open access: yesCarbohydrate Research, 2023
Three groups of furanoses with restricted freedom of rotation on the C3-C4, C2-C3, and C1-C2 bonds, respectively, are presented. Conformational analysis of these furanoses is conducted based on the proton nuclear magnetic resonance (1H NMR) spectroscopy, density functional theory (DFT) calculations, and X-ray analysis.

Reciprocal control of viral infection and phosphoinositide dynamics

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Phosphoinositides, although scarce, regulate key cellular processes, including membrane dynamics and signaling. Viruses exploit these lipids to support their entry, replication, assembly, and egress. The central role of phosphoinositides in infection highlights phosphoinositide metabolism as a promising antiviral target.

Double trace interfaces

open access: yesJournal of High Energy Physics, 2017
We introduce and study renormalization group interfaces between two holographic conformal theories which are related by deformation by a scalar double trace operator.
