Three groups of furanoses with restricted freedom of rotation on the C3-C4, C2-C3, and C1-C2 bonds, respectively, are presented. Conformational analysis of these furanoses is conducted based on the proton nuclear magnetic resonance (1H NMR) spectroscopy, density functional theory (DFT) calculations, and X-ray analysis.

Reciprocal control of viral infection and phosphoinositide dynamics
Phosphoinositides, although scarce, regulate key cellular processes, including membrane dynamics and signaling. Viruses exploit these lipids to support their entry, replication, assembly, and egress. The central role of phosphoinositides in infection highlights phosphoinositide metabolism as a promising antiviral target.
