Real-world evidence of quadrivalent meningococcal conjugate vaccine safety in the United States: a systematic review

open access: yesHuman Vaccines & Immunotherapeutics, 2021
Two quadrivalent meningococcal conjugate vaccines (MenACWY) that prevent invasive meningococcal disease caused by N. meningitidis serogroups A, C, Y, and W have been licensed in the U.S. in the past 10–15 years.

Spatiotemporal and quantitative analyses of phosphoinositides – fluorescent probe—and mass spectrometry‐based approaches

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Fluorescent probes allow dynamic visualization of phosphoinositides in living cells (left), whereas mass spectrometry provides high‐sensitivity, isomer‐resolved quantitation (right). Their synergistic use captures complementary aspects of lipid signaling. This review illustrates how these approaches reveal the spatiotemporal regulation and quantitative

Spectral tuning of 11-cis retinal in conjugation with Au14 cluster and concomitant effect on isomerization: A theoretical outlook

open access: yesJournal of Photochemistry and Photobiology, 2021
The present study explores the optical properties of retinal molecules in presence of small gold cluster (Au14), where the cluster motifs are varied through Oh, D2h and C4v symmetries. The constructive interference of the transition dipole moments (TDMs)

Multi-serotype pneumococcal nasopharyngeal carriage prevalence in vaccine naïve Nepalese children, assessed using molecular serotyping.

open access: yes, 2015
Invasive pneumococcal disease is one of the major causes of death in young children in resource poor countries. Nasopharyngeal carriage studies provide insight into the local prevalence of circulating pneumococcal serotypes.

Structural instability impairs function of the UDP‐xylose synthase 1 Ile181Asn variant associated with short‐stature genetic syndrome in humans

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
The Ile181Asn variant of human UDP‐xylose synthase (hUXS1), associated with a short‐stature genetic syndrome, has previously been reported as inactive. Our findings demonstrate that Ile181Asn‐hUXS1 retains catalytic activity similar to the wild‐type but exhibits reduced stability, a looser oligomeric state, and an increased tendency to precipitate ...

Synthesis, conjugating capacity and biocompatibility evaluation of a novel amphiphilic polynorbornene

open access: yesDesigned Monomers and Polymers, 2020
Polynorbornenes, prepared by the ‘living’ and ‘controlled’ ring-opening metathesis polymerization (ROMP) method, have emerged as a stimuli-sensitive new class of polymer carriers.

The (Glg)ABCs of cyanobacteria: modelling of glycogen synthesis and functional divergence of glycogen synthases in Synechocystis sp. PCC 6803

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
We reconstituted Synechocystis glycogen synthesis in vitro from purified enzymes and showed that two GlgA isoenzymes produce glycogen with different architectures: GlgA1 yields denser, highly branched glycogen, whereas GlgA2 synthesizes longer, less‐branched chains.
